I've just been reading the e-season friend and I really can't believe me eyes. Certain posters are claiming it a " brilliant signing " when if we were signing him then Rafa would now be under 50 ft of solid abuse.
This forum has so many 2005 Istanbul + whooper's that used to support Manchester United. In fact I dare say Man Utd could purchase a dog plop and it would be hailed by the forum morons as a " Wonder Signing ".
I'm not claiming Smalling is good nor bad as I have only watched him once but the double standards here are pretty damn amusing to read.
I don't think anybody said it's a great signing.

i dont know anything about him. although it comes down to the margain of error debate again. they can do it, we cant. therefore, rafa owns all !
id rather spend a few million on some serbians though.

I just thought I would clarify, this message is directed to those who constantly criticise Rafa no matter what and then can't put the lube and A Fergie magazines down quick enough to praise anything Man Utd do. If anyone else wants to say Smalling is a good/bad signing then fair enough as long as you analyse the situation from a non biased perspective as you would do with a Rafa signing.

Never seen him he hasn't even debuted for CSKA yet to my knowledge. Dzagoev will be a world top CAM/Second striker though no doubt in my mind he is unbelievable and Schennikov and Necid look very talented, Piliev looks good also.
Hopefully Cosic will play next season so I can see him but at the moment Dzagoev and Ananidze are the gems in Russia.

Piliev doesn't play often but next season he very well could.

No ones saying its a great signing. However it has the potential to be a great signing, Smalling dosen't look to bad a defender for his age, but Fergie might see him as Rio's long term replacement.

I don't see the problem with saying Welcome to Anfield to a player, and nobody knows anything about him now yet he is being labelled as a good buy.

It's all good hating Man Utd but hating their fans personally is dumb as Man Utd fans as individuals are just as friendly/unfriendly as any other club. One day you may might the woman of your dreams and she maybe a Man Utd fan :eek:

He's had a good season and looks set to become one of their future centre backs. The again, we have martin kelly so it all evens itself out :D

I'd feel great if he's in their futural defence!
On a side note Hernandez is the great bargain, wish we had'em.

Hernandez is a good player and he strikes me as being quite a likeable person; he's definately not up there with some of the arrogant personalities at old trafford

I thought he seemed like quite a likeable person too until he did something the other day in a match. I can't for the life of me remember what it was but I can remember thinking - so he is a typical Manc D**k then...
I'll try to remember what it was and get back to you but I definitely think that 3/4 of a season of playing for them is enough to turn you into a p***k if he's anything to go by.
Chris Smalling does however seem like a likeable guy and is actually fairly good from what I've seen. Martin Kelly is better though :D
