This player Sanchez who is playing for Chile looks a good player. tries to go past a player and good on the ball, anyone else watching him
yep looks decent wasnt he linked with real?
Yeh he's skinning the rb but honduras look very weak
yep looks decent wasnt he linked with real?
yeah thats what the commentator said, never heard of him before today though. think he plays for udinesse at the moment
Pretty decent game overall IMO, the most attacking I've seen this WC (although I haven't watched all the games)

Yep, Udinese player...
Has a flair like a mix between Nando on his runs...and (cough) Ronaldo dribbling.
Kid is 21....looks real good on the world stage...little small for the EPL standards but he looks promising. And yes, this was my first time seeing him. Chile are actually playing good footie and are enjoying the game. Even though this is Hondurus...

And let's keep in mind that he is playing against the worst team in the World Cup.
Wanna see how he plays vs Spain.
You those guy who don't watch football and like to make comments.
He played for the (-20) world cup and played really well and is among the 50 best youngster for football.
Good young player with great quality. Buy him

Likes to jump on the floor tho doesnt he.
Lets wait and see how he gets on against Spain and Switzerland.
I gotta be honest, I can't say we should sign a player based on WC performances after El-Hadji Diouf and Salif Diao :(

gush of wind -on the floor.
his own player runs passed him - on the floor.
just confuses me.

Would love him at the club just to slot in on the right. Industrious, hardworking and fantastic going forward; also pretty young but not a baby! How much is his value? and would you guys like to see him here?
In my team on football manager. Top scorer! :P
didnt he score against us in the 88 cup final:crying
yes.
looked a good talent at the world cup. I think he has everything to make it in the EPL he has pace to burn and can beat fallbacks like there was noone there. But heard Udinese want big money for him so any move for him could only happen after a takeover.

I have been looking at Sanchez for over a year at Udinese ever since an Italian friend of mine was raving on about him. Udinense paid about a million for him when he was only 16-17 but he could not come over to Europe till he was 18. He has been labelled a wonder kid 3-4 years ago.
To make him even more expensive now, he had a very good World Cup therefore increasing his value even more.
I don't think Liverpool could ever get such a player. even if he was only £10-12m.
The reason being that if Undinse wanted to sell him for a huge profit there would be quite a few clubs in the queue and we cannot compete with the other clubs. You have to remember, when Liverpool compete for a player its not only the English clubs but all the major European Clubs and in the pecking order we are a fair way down.
He is only 21 but I think bidding would start at £15m minimum.
I heard Utd were after him at one point, if we try to get him when he has a year left on his contract we might get lucky but wouldn't hold my breath
Shouldnt this be in transfer talk? No offence intended

Bring alexis Sanchez and sell Babel
naaaa, there has been inquiries from alot of teams, udinese are demanding nothing less than 30 million euro's ,
but for a 21 year old who is going to be incredible (possibly on the same level as cristiano ronaldo) i think it would be a fantastic investment

Is Alexis Sanchez going to be the new Arda Turan on the forums :)
On a serious note, he had a good World Cup and a creative, pacy, dynamic winger. We're certainly lacking width but we'd have to fund a big move since he'll be worth £10m-ish.

thats a brave call
ive only seen about 5-10 games of his and i have thought he could be decent but never the best in the world material...
He was excellent in the World Cup I thought. Not only did he have the pace and the skill but his work rate was top notch. Was also very impressed by his team mate Jorge Valdivia. In fact the Chilean team looked pretty good all round...
Was watching the seria A . And he score 4 goals in tonight match , i remember last week he got a hat trick.

Alexis Sanchez is not a suddenly a good player !!!! He is an incredible player and has been for awhile now!!
He is not similar to Suarez , he has tons more pace , Skill and is more a provider than Goal scorer ... This season he has found himself in a more central role behind the front man , mainly through a lack of form ..( the coach wanted him to be more involved , than being stuck out on the wing)
GR8 , Great player , can play anywhere , best suited as an all out attacker on either flank ...433 might be to narrow for him as he is a smallish guy and can get bullied off the ball ....Best suited to challenging Fullbacks and setting up front players.
Much better player than Young , BUT he will need time to adapt to EPL and Young can slot in immediately to provide us the width we lack.
But in an ideal world he is Number 1 wideman , if we did'nt need an instant solution.

A lot of rumours going around that Liverpool had/are preparing to make a bid of around €30m - €35m for Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.
Just rumours i know but would you be happy to buy this player and for this much?
He is going to be some player though, no matter what team he plays for.

Doubt its true, and I also doubt he would come to us, he has said in many articles that he is a scum fan.
BUT
If if it is true, then he will be a BRILLIANT buy. He can play on either wing and up front, he has pace to burn and is very very skillfull.
If its true ill **** in my pants.
Its all unsubstantiated rumour until then but it would be lovely.
This is what would happen if we combined Suarez with Sanchez:

Sounds to me like Udinese are trying to start a bidding war to get a better price, hence they say they can't say were the bid came from.

Not sure, my concern is that he is lightweight and the likes of Robert Huth and Ryan Shawcross would kick the **** out of him. Nurtured right though he could be a world beater. I'd prefer him to Hazard.

I'll believe this when I see it. Probably nailed on for United. He'd be a good option to have, though. Very good player.
EDIT - I also think Babel would have made it at Arsenal. The football they played is more to his strengths than ours was.

Holy crap I hope we sign him! Would fit perfectly into the left wing!
We need to stay well clear of players playing in the Italian league, totally overrated. Unless we're talking Motta or Sneijder
I still dont buy that it was us. I have no reason to believe it was anyone other than Chelsea. Udinese are playing this right and making sure they put feelers out there to make aware to any other interested parties of their intentions for the summer. Sound business and ensuring they get top dollar for one of their players.

Liverpool is lacking of playmaker who can duo with Suarez in attacking, and I think we should take a look at Unidense's Sanchez, spending 20k or 24k is worth it we need to win getting discourarge not been in the top of premier.
20k for Sanchez :FP: I believe you mean £20m even then you are off, they want £30m. Secondly he's a winger/second striker, not a playmaker.
I suggest you go watch the player a few times, read up on him etc. Then come back with a suggestion.

Yeah I agree before any1 has a go at him he has made a mistake and means (20m or 24m) But I think he will be around the 30m+ mark if there are a few teams bidding!

Widespread reports in Spain claim Barcelona are set to finalise a deal to sign Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.
The 22-year-old winger has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs this summer.
Manchester City have lodged a substantial bid for the Chile international, while Inter Milan and Juventus have also been in talks with Udinese.
But earlier this week Sanchez rejected a move to City and his agents are now thought to be in Spain, negotiating terms over a five-year deal with Barca.
Reports claim the Spanish and European champions are willing to offer Udinese a fee of around €25million (£22.3m) plus 23-year-old winger Jeffren Suarez to secure the services of the in-demand Sanchez.

If they sign Thiago Silva, he'd go in to replace Puyol in the first team next season to be honest. Puyol has been injured a lot this season and I think Thiago Silva has got immense potential to become the best defender in thw world. He's a better version of David Luiz in that he's never caught out of position and has to make rash challenges.

Ibrahimovich and Affelay haven't set the world alight there. Masch as well barely played in the first half of the season.
Not seen this Sanchez before, but I can't see why he'd be any different
give him time.
give him time.
He's had enough time. BURN HIM!!! :AG: :AG: :AG:
If they sign Sanchez, the midfield/forward line would be:
------------Busquets------------
------Xavi-----------Iniesta-----
Pedro--------Messi----------Villa
Finally someone with sense who also understands that messi plays CF

Yeah, I know, just wumming. He's had a fair share of good games towards the end the season.
He should be playing regular football and he is not going to get that at Barca. I can't help but think it is a bad move for his career.

He was amazing for the Dutch yesterday against Brazil. Absolutely ran them ragged on the left on midfield and gave Dani Alves a torrid time.
Still needs to work on his finishing but he was fantastic yesterday..super quick, good with the ball at his feet and can pick a pass and cross. It's not fair that Barca got him for 3m
Four-Five-One

That is ridiculous. If they get him that is an unbelievable first team. Pedro would be dropped and as soon as Villa, Messi or Sanchez are out of form, in comes Pedro to dominate. Absolutely unreal.

ARGHHHHH Barca :(
Well, at least it's not Man Utd. I guess.
Sanchez will be on the bench.
Like the Masch situation, Pedro is loved just like Busquetes is in Barca.

How big do you think would he be if he had gone to a different club? From what I have seen of him, he is a fantastic player and if he had moved to Liverpool, he could have been one of our top players.
I cannot see him breaking into that Barca starting eleven and I hate seeing players like him being wasted on the bench.

5-6-11, 13:31
Lets be honest who wouldn't want to play for Barca right now?
Having said that Sanchez will have real trouble trying to break into the first team.
In fact if Fabregas went this summer to them I can see him sitting on their bench

He would have fit us perfectly on the left. Maxi is just a very poor man's version of Affelay and we have played some very good stuff with Maxi in the team in the last few weeks.
Affelay on the left, Suarez on the right with Gerrard behind Carroll..could have been awesome :(
He would have thrived under Kenny's new pass and move system too. Needs to work on his finishing but he had a good understanding with Dirk too yesterday.
I always thought Affelay would be a good signing for us,and you couldn't hold it against the lad for going to Barca.
If Sanchez is going there ,which may mean less game time for him,I think he is worth paying a few quid for.A very clever player
he willl warm the bench and after 1 year he will leave for a lower fee + worser then he is now. nothing special. fact.
Didn't we beat them at Nou Camp few years back when they had almost same core of Iniesta, Xavi, Messi? In fact they had Ronaldinho and E'to too in their squad. Still we managed to beat them. So don't worry, we have King Kenny we don't need to fear any one.:scarf
We have 2 make it in2 Europe 1st....

He doesn't really suit their kind of football though. He isn't the pass and move winger he's more of a Ronaldo player who's all about being an individual. Nevertheless, its a good signing for Barca who lack some serious squad depth! I still see Pedro starting ahead of him

Anyone who thinks that they should drop Busquets and put Xavi in his role is an absolute ****.
Busquets is a very important player for them.
That would be immense, real madrid could buy any other players in the world but they still wouldnt be able to compete. Thats not far off the best 6 players in the world right there.
Is there another 6 players in the world who are better than those?
---------- Alonso -----------
----- Essien --- Gerrard -----
Ronaldo -- Torres ---- Rooney
They would give them a fair game I guess.
lol its 2011 not 2007

Mascherano > than him??
I would personally prefer Masch, but definitely Barca cannot have Xavi in the hole, it would limit them and leave their midfield looking too lightweight. Busquets is a good defensive midfielder but i just feel Javier offers more in terms of a defensive sense.

I'm not the only one who thinks he won't suite their play am I? I think his pace and dribbling ability running with the ball through an opposition team would be better suited to a different team rather than Barcelona that rely mostly on passing the ball through a team.

nope im with you...imo they dont need another atatcker if they sign cesc as they will than probably push iniesta into the attacking trio.....i think aguero would suit barca better tbh....
He's being brought in as 'cover' for the likes of Messi, Pedro and Villa. Apparently Guiseppe Rossi is being lined up by them too!

Aguero is the modern day Romário and with Cesc, Xavi and Iniesta they've got the ammo Stoichkov, Laudrup and Guardiola had. I think you're right that he'd be the best forward for them to sign with Pedro as their super sub. But I don't even think they need him or Cesc. Their academy more than has the talent to keep things fresh and progressive. I think Sanchez is more a marketing thing. They'll make a massive profit off of this signing and tap into even more of the international market.

Basically, it seems like Sanchez has agreed terms with Barca, and now they will haggle over the price.

looking at the report barca must have valued bojan around the 12-15m mark going off previous bids that were rejected by udinese ie:- man citys 35m bid for him.
think by signing for barca he will turn into more of a squad player for them than a first teamer.
Can't blame anyone for jumping at the chance to join that Barca team. Least he's going somewhere decent instead of manure or a plastic club.

So 10m euros for Bojan, seems a fairer price than £15m for Wickham!
So Sanchez moves for £25m or so. You do wonder how much he'd cost if an English team were in the running. And Bojan for £8m? Closer to double that to get him over this way I reckon. It's almost as if there's a European-wide conspiracy to well and truly shaft English teams in the transfer window. The offer for Sanchez is less than their reported bid for Fabregas! Let's hope we are interested ;)
* Its the system , and then the players *
So Sanchez moves for £25m or so. You do wonder how much he'd cost if an English team were in the running. And Bojan for £8m? Closer to double that to get him over this way I reckon. It's almost as if there's a European-wide conspiracy to well and truly shaft English teams in the transfer window. The offer for Sanchez is less than their reported bid for Fabregas! It seems that everyone has it sussed- play the waiting game and the English teams crack. If they don't, sell to another European team for a much lower price. Insane.

Yep, seems crazy! Barca do have the advantage that every player in the world would love to play in the same team as Messi et al, so they will always push for the move. English clubs have the disadvantage of a recent past history of paying way over the odds for players!
Also there is already several different reports on this, from 30m euros AND Bojan (arguably 45 to 50m) to 30m straight cash. I have also read 30m + Bojan on loan so who knows what the actually facts are!

True, hard to tell exactly what kind of money is being talked about. But as we're seeing with Aquilani, and Masch last year, foreign teams must have us down as a soft target. About time we started playing hardball and holding out for what we believe a player is worth.

at least he is not coming to another team than us in england.
Would have liked to see him in an LFC shirt, but if he goes to Barca then at least he won't go to any of the other major premier league teams.
Hope Bojan will come to us in stead of going to Udinese...

If Sanchez joins Barca that would be yet another attacker ahead of the likes of Bojan and Jeffren in the pecking order, so it would be very likely both or one of them will definately be leaving, or they face yet another season on the bench with a slimmer chance of getting a game.
Personally i think liverpool should go for both, it would fill the void left by Ngog and fill a problem area on the wing.

To be honest, it's a surprise that he even went there. You could be right - his pace would look extra quick in Serie A against all those 37 year old defenders!
But I would still love to get him to Anfield, if I'm honest.

We've been burned with Aquilani and Dossena who came out of Italy.
I thought Kolarov would have been great for us after seeing him a little in Serie A, and he has been absouloute cack in England.
Balotelli hasn't been much better either.
Gives me shivers when people think we should sign Vargas.

M.City will have to offer him alot more than Barca. The question for Barca is they want Rossi (£30m), Fabregas (£35m) & Sanchez (£25m)..... that's a combined £90m. Which players will they sell...... most likely Bojan (£18-20m), Jefferen (£7-9m), Afellay (£7m), Ibra (£30-35m) and possibly Masch (£15m) & Xavi (£15m)???:eek: ..... That'll bring them a return of around £90-95m to balance the books.
Masch is a bit part player, and Fabregas seems the long term replacement for Xavi, but the question is will they cash in on Xavi as he's got just over 2 years left on his contract and this summer is the only time they can command a good fee for him. Sounds crazy but possible!!

True.
But I think that Sanchez has real pace and trickery, so stands a much better chance than the others you have mentioned.
I actually think Balotelli is a very good player, but he's just a complete nutter.
He is a quality player no doubt, but his biggest strength is dribbling and that isn't a big advantage in England as all the defenders will try to break you :p He can't pass either, that can be a big big problem.
Why would City sign him though when they have already Milner and Adam Johnson on the bench???

I don't think they will sell Xavi, he's got a contract until 2015/16 or so and he seems very much a one-club guy!!
You never know, though. I agree, he'll fare better at City than Barca - the Nou Camp never seemed a proper fit for Sanchez.
Rather him there than at United or City.

I stand corrected, I forgot he signed a deal last summer and even remember talking about it........ how stupid! lols :FP::FP:
Under those circumstances, I see Xavi seeing out his career at Barca, under his old contract, he had 2 years or so left, but with last years new 1, he's there for a good 2-3years more atleast. One hell of a player too, very quick in the mind thinking on the pitch too, reads the game fantastically.
Rather him there than at United or City.
Too true. Cant blame him for going to Barca where his game will get so much better and, well, its a no brainer really eh.
If he is going to come to the EPL it will be City and we all know why £££££.They will go back with a bid 38-40 and watch him sign.

Their system is fairly fluid so Messi can be found on either wing quite often. In reality he would play through the centre more often than not. If you watched La Liga games at the start of the match they would show the formation with Messi on the right quite often.

I agree off this seasons form Villa is most in danger of being dropped, in reality thouggh I see the four of them rotating. to be fair someone like sanchez is not a bad player to replace messi when your resting him

When put into a formation Messi is played on the right wing but they are so fluid that you can't imagine anyone really set a position. Pedro is quality I agree but there's no harm in competition and having Pedro and Sanchez down the left wing really isn't a bad thing for Barca.

Barca have came out and said they've only €40m net to spend and dont look liklely to sell any big names. City have said they wont be spending big.
Nothing but transfer talk its like Hello magazine for girls with all the celebrity rumours
Facts are City and Chelsea need to sell and lower their wage bills before they can even think about buying.
Barca have said they've a limited budget as I mentioned above.
Real can only buy so many players, if they sell Kaka it'll help them though.
We'll never get him.
Mancs will only sign another couple of players, Fergie said 4 or 5 to replace the retiring players and refresh then squad. Cant see Sanchez being one of them.
Could well be spending another season in Serie A I think. Unless Arsenal or Bayern decide to dig into their profits they make.

If Utd get Sanchez then the logic is that City would turn to Mata - which would in turn kick us right where it hurts.
