Considering what is happening in Japan at the moment, I think you might want to edit the opening paragraph of the article Souness & Co eclipse Barca - unfortunate, but highly inappropriate wording, given the circumstances

You can just delete the first paragraph, without it affecting the piece
Would be a bit precious to edit that imo.
Has it already been edited because I can't see anything "highly inappropriate" in that piece?

This I would think.
It is on a flood tide, gushing into every corner of the game, lapping and foaming and submerging some of their most compelling rivals of the quite recent past.
Up to The Independent to edit i would think.
Maybe highly inappropriate if it was wrote after the tragedy and even then....

That would be a decision for Mr Lawton. Knowing his record on Hillsborough offending people is the last thing he would've intended. I'd certainly hope people could understand this was written before the disaster and absolutely no offence was intended.
