View Full Version : Jan Molby Evening
Alright guys I went to an evening with the big man last night at our local club got to say it was top drawer! He had some great anecdotes and stories from back in the day and it was great to hear a legend like him speak. Just wanted to say to anyone if you get the chance to go to one of these events don't pass it up or you'll really regret it! :scarf

Haha yes he did mate it was actually me that said it! He said the Enrique deal was more or less in the bag, also Charlie Adam but that wasn't as certain.

Yeah I saw him at a sportsmans dinner a few years ago. Youre right he is good. Id assume he told the story about when he was in the open prison and the alarm went off. They thought hed escaped but he was sat watching the match in the wardens house. Classic.
Hes a very funny bloke though and hes polite enough too.

Ha no I don't think he mentioned that one! The beer was flowing though! He did say when he arrived he was quite shy until Joe Fagan assigned Grobelaar to look after him. He said the next 2 weeks were a daze!
Your right though he was polite and took a hell of a lot of time to mingle and have photos taken. Currently got mine with him as my Facebook profile picture!
For my dad's big 60 birthday I was able to get 2 tickets a couple of years ago for an evening with Jan and Barney Rubble. It was as you said with your evening with Jan a fantastic night so many jokes and laughs.Did Jan say who he thought was the worst player he had played with?:scarf:scarf
Not so much the worst but he said the laziest was Razor and he said there were some dull ones too (Staunton and Rob Jones)! Who did he say when you saw him?
The best players were obviously Cruyff and Kenny.

The best players were obviously Cruyff and Kenny. The worst player he said by far was Nicky Tanner, awful footballer bad dress and with his strong cornish accent the worst to understand. And as you said Cruyff and Kenny were the best
Damn!!!!!!!! I love Jan Molby!!!
The dude's so funny and was a great footballer, and I mean Great!! I need to find out when they do another night like this, anyone have any links or assistance on this... because from what I hear/read if there's a night with a Liverpool legend to see, it's got to be Jan. I've heard this mentioned by so many people, he's ment to be a joy to go and see, plus you get to me a childhood hero, what a bonus!!

Went to one a couple of years ago with Jan and John Barnes. Great night it was and the photo i have with them is my pride and joy.:scarf
I remember one game against Luton I think - we won 5 or 6 nil and big Jan scored two direct from free kicks, one with his left foot and one with his right foot...awesome!

Seen that a few times, one of the best goals by a LFC great. Jan, was a chubby dude, but that was just his physique but my God was he a true footballer, and that's how I'd describe him ..... a true Footballer with skill, flair, ability, vision, touch and finishing ability!
Only 1 Jan Molby! :scarf
