Looking at the fixtures it maybe a very good season but it is vital we get of to a good start we are going to have a point to prove we have to make anfield a fortress and not draw to many games away from home, No team played great away from home last season I'm hoping that is the case this season.

looking at the fixtures we have a tricky November & February by November I'm hoping the team is at full strength, November games are mainly at home we play great at home I'm confident about December.

I just feel if we get a classy new left back in before the start of the season it would solve alot of problems at the back all in all we are going to need to hit the ground running.

From the telegraph.co.uk
Sometimes it can take time for new players to settle. In that feted Liverpool side, Peter Beardsley really shone only after Christmas.

As Aldridge looked down from the radio box yesterday, and Dalglish attempted to marshal his resources from the dug-out, Liverpool's new boys sought to live up to a famous tradition. Unlike in 1987-88, it will not happen overnight.

I do think we can win the premier title ♛

If we can buy a LB, possibly a CB, and another (versatile and pacy) forward - I think we can too

I mean we're been discussing about our midfield right now (with gerrard's unfortunate injury :() and we can see the type of talent that oozing in there right now even without our great captain.

And to think, with him in it - we'll be even better :)

If we can still be challenging when we get to March 4th then we really will have a great chance to finish very high.
Thats a great final 10 games to have.

Aye, agreed.

I don't see another striker as an absolute priority (due to our continued need for a LB and CB), but for some reason I assume if we were going to go for another striker, it would be another towering target man like Carroll, hence us going for Wickham. But buying a different type of player - a nippy, speedy, techniquey striker would add a whole different dimension to our attack.

I just want us to keep on spending :( :D

Every game is worth the same amount of points, regardless of where it occurs in the season.

it is vital we hit the ground running & the players show up vs arsenal because at the end of the season all the points are going to add up if we win one draw one that's 4point two draws is 2points and that's not great & yes those teams will have somethink to say about it:rolleyes:

However hopefully we will start to see a fitter squad then, think we look a little flat at times and that's down to fitness as much as anything.

Stoke away and Spurs away are gonna be really difficult. Can't see us winning both of them but we just have to play our football and try to win. Bolton next, we should really be beating them at home. Important to have a good home record.

Bolton have started the season very well they are looking very strong they are holding there own against city right now, next week they have to come to anfield its going to be a hard game its going to be a game that we are going to need to take all the chances we get. To me it maybe a type of game that can be won or drawn in midfield.

Lucas alone may not be able to hold up the midfield
It maybe good to do a 4-3-3 hoping Johnson be available

Liverpool are set to field a strong side for their Carling Cup second round tie against Exeter on Wednesday.
The Reds, who are without European football this season, will give a run out to several squad players but boss Kenny Dalglish is expected to use the game to continue the process of bedding in a number of new signings.
Midfielders Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam will probably both feature at St James' Park alongside the likes of Andy Carroll and Dirk Kuyt.
However, Uruguay striker Luis Suarez is likely to be rested ahead of Saturday's clash with Bolton as he continues his return to full fitness following the Copa America.
And summer recruit Alexander Doni could also make his debut in goal with Pepe Reina another excused first team duty.
Exeter will be without suspended full-back Steve Tully after the 31-year-old was sent off against Preston on Saturday.
However the Grecians are boosted by the return from injury of strikers Daniel Nardiello and Guillem Bauza whilst Richard Logan (hamstring) is also in contention.

I think we can see the importance of not LOSING any games. Even if you get one point out of a game that can suffice and I think that's why so many of even the top teams had such poor away records last year. You just don't want to lose.

Having said that, at some places, you simply have to win away in order to rise above the rest and make top four. We have a good run in though. I like the start and finish to our season.

It was the wrong team today.

I would of liked to see Maxi & Carroll start the game today, Stoke would of done there home work they had two weeks to work out a game plan we needed to freshen it up a bit Maxi for Henderson & Carroll for kuyt would of done it I think. Adam was not looking his best Downing was ok the defence was ok but that was just it the team was just ok we should not of lost that game at all today. there wasn't no cutting edge in the finishing it was all to predictable like I said we just needed to freshen it up a little bit & then I think we would of crushed Stoke like we should have.

The loss was painful today but I know deep down we should of crushed Stoke.

LHunter
11-9-11, 13:13
I seen enough to convince me that we should of crushed Stoke I said yesterday that Maxi & Carroll should of started but in training i don't know if they deserved to start the game. All I know is that we was very unlucky in front of goal yesterday & that loss should not bring down the confidence.

I was concerned after the Bolton game concerned in the way that the team was just starting to jell together then they go of for 3weeks & some my not come back the same.

the spurs away fixture was always going to be a tough game spurs had a full squad & off the back of a win. To of got somethink out of the game we would of had to fight for it that didn't happen there are ten points I can make on how this happened like Kuyt not playing on the right or the tactics of playing the ball back to the keeper but its over now. We lost & lost badly I did not think we would of lost so many points at this point of the season.
we need to get back on track & fast I have faith in may team & Kenny its still early days I'm a little concerned but I have faith, the next premier league game we play we should have our champion back :scarf & he may slot in next to Lucas in midfield its time to enter the dragon.

Spurs is just another team to add to the home list beating

Its a pity that we couldn't hold out for the win or score one more goal to kill the game off, alot of talking points in this game as always the man u team sheet, Suarez-evra, the free kick decision, Carroll not being used, how good Kelly is the list goes on.

Liverpool vs Norwich

if we don't win at home to Norwich after the fin draw in a game that we could of won would be a nightmare & a backwards step to progress.

Two good post's on Liverpool
Suarez: We've shown King Kenny he will be crowned in silverware
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2051743/Luis-Suarez-believes-Liverpool-shown-Kenny-Dalglish-win-silverware.html
Luis Suarez believes Liverpool have shown Kenny Dalglish enough so far this season to convince him they are capable of winning silverware.

The Uruguayan epitomises the determined spirit in the squad with his energy, endless closing down of defenders and the drive to beat every opponent.

Forget the defence, THIS the main area Liverpool need to improve?
http://thisisfutbol.com/2011/10/blogs/forget-the-defence-this-the-main-area-liverpool-need-to-improve
So we’re close to a quarter of the way through the season already (I know, it goes quickly, doesn’t it?) and it’s fair to say that we’ve started fairly well.* The odd stutter aside, we’ve acquitted ourselves pretty decently against the more difficult sides we’ve faced with victories against Everton and Arsenal (both away, no less) a home draw against United which could and should have been a morale-boosting win have shown that we’re more than capable of getting results in tough games.* Likewise, we’ve made easy work of lesser sides in some games too.* But defeats against the likes of Tottenham have shown that we’re still lacking and have a lot to learn still.

While a lot of people have pointed out that we lack any real pace and mobility in midfield when the likes of Henderson and Adam are playing, I actually think that, now Gerrard is back that will become less of an issue, particularly if he is able to play off Suarez and link midfield with attack like he is so good at.

To wavdeep yes I think we all think that

LHunter

Now I said if we don't win it be a nightmare witch it is & if we don't win it be a backwards stop in progress okay we have a net spend of ฃ37million but the money we have spent we should have a squad that can do away with Norwich at home.
I don't know what we need other then the cutting edge in front of goal, more in front of goal training I think. When I trained for my football team we had a 4 hour training session of goal scoring & set peace taking.
& I was a defender!

I pulled this quote from another poster:-
I thought it was a fantastically professional performance start to finish. That back 5 is the kind of versatile, attacking, cultured back 5 that I've been looking to see at our club for years. I don't care who comes back from injury, if they stay fit, they should get a run together.

Henderson was tidy and intelligent. Carroll played pretty well and also needs to play in a string of games IMO. Lucas back to doing what he does best. Adam is playing with more brain of late.

Shame we couldn't add more and I'd have preferred Bellamy to come on much earlier, but otherwise it was pretty much flawless.

What can I say, a home draw to a team that just got promoted again.
& now we are back to the international brake, after that some of the worst games of the season.

Maxi got a game on Sunday & a goal:scarf I was very happy to see him on the team sheet in fact I was happy looking at the full team sheet going in to Sundays game.

But I will not be suppressed if it's not the same lineup next Sunday, next Sunday vs man city will be a hole different ball game so I would not be suppressed, all I can say is "In Kenny I trust"

I was disappointed not to see maxi play this game but I felt the players on the field was capable of getting the win Henderson saw a shot on goal come off the post what
looked to me going in the back off the net Suarez was to me on side when he was on goal and Jay was unlucky to of see a red card up until that point he looked the best player on the field, this game was one of them games we needed to win to keep up with the rest of the pack

Suarez and maxi played some great football on Saturday the two players added at times some sublime south American flare that is so badly needed in the team against times like QPR.
I do think we need more south American players in the team players that is going to link up with Suarez, this is why people like me is crying out for a player or two to link up with Suarez like maxi to get the best out of him saying that we ended the day with 3 points and got a clean sheet with the 11 players we had on field.
the defense is giving me a lot of conference I always felt that if we got a good left back we would then have a very good back line I would like to see the young players we have got to make the grade make that step up in to the first team if possible.
We just need to get the goals in from now until January then we can go shopping :D

Surprised Shelvey is starting

Would have liked to have seen Maxi, but I'm happy enough with that

No I'm not suppressed Maxi is not playing

------------------------Reina

Johnson--------Skrtel---------Agger--------Enrique

--------------Hendo-------------Adam---------------

------Downing>------.Shelvey-------<Bellamy

----------------------..Suarez

This is more like I thought it would be Downing needs to play this game, Bellamy is more better in this type of games.

★All I can say is 3 points plz★

Good game today like that we got the goals in the first half liked to of seen a goal or two more Suarez was very close twice.
it was one of them games that just looking at the team sheet left you thinking it can be a Good day. And jonjo had a great game

Kuyt is the man for the penaltys, yes kuyt as missed one but I think we won that game in the end. And Suarez for me should of taken the penalty last night I would of been over the moon if he scored. Kuyt should of had a word to Adam about that last night, this is what I thought Kuyt was on the field for the tactics would of been spot on then.

And

As a black man myself I don't think Suarez is racist, I think Suarez may of used a word that Evra may not of been happy with but in some country's maybe ok. IF SO Evra then could of said to Suarez after the game that I'm not happy about what you said and then take it from there if needed

Suarez was given a 8 match ban what for I don't know, with 14 days to make an appeal in that time Suarez can play for club and country from what I can understand we are waiting for the FA report before a appeal is made.

Bellamys two goals, skrtels goal line clearance, Gerrards crosses & goal to Finnish the game are the main talking points.
Newcastle played good but at times very dirty spearing was down to a very bad tackle for a moment, I was so happy when he got back up to see out the game but Bellamy was not so lucky and not able to see out the game no thanks to Newcastles dirty tactics leaving Bellamy needing stitches on a cut above his eye. BA is having a great season so far and came close to scoring a good goal but it was not to be thanks to skrtels great goal line clearance.
On the hour Gerrard was on the field and showed us just what we have been missing for a long time now supplying Carroll with some great crosses from the right wing what Carroll is crying out for witch no player so far is able to manage what is leaving me thinking we need someone on the right-wing who and cross like Gerrard and have the ability to leave a marker not necessarily a RW even a RFW (right-forward-winger) who can score a goal or two too. Gerrard was not just on the right being the great player that he is was all over the shop and popped up from the left side of the midfield and had the ball put in front of him from handerson had it all to do and put the ball though the legs of the keeper at an angel & in the goal to kill off the game.
The lads was playing ok but when Gerrard came on the team got a real lift and played great. we already have a very good back line witch will get a real test in January if the attacking players play as good as the defence, keeper, Gerrard & Suarez then we will see somethink special.
happy new year :scarfYNWA:scarf:TK:

CITY 0-1 LIVERPOOL

Now to today's game:mad:

15 shot's
1 on goal
69% possession not good kuyt played up front had a header on goal that should of gone in the back of the net we looked good at the back cannot complain but going forward what is going on? We play good have chances but we cannot find the net!
Dont know what it is is it the
1, 11 players at the time starting the game
2, are we just missing Suarez
3, do we need to sign a attacking striker or attacking midfielder or someone on the right wing
I think its number 3
