That changing one's mind isn't necessarily hypocrisy and that Dalglish has been poor throughout the season and no amount of pointing out that he can't predict the future can change that .

have to massively disagree regarding the spirit bit, didn't look like anyone gave a flying **** yesterday at all bar andy.

felt massively, massively let down by that performance. we never looked like winning it. pepe in particular needs to ******* sort himself out or **** off in the summer as far as I'm concerned.

But to changes one's mind after seeing that want you wanted didn't work?......Shouldn't result in criticism of anyone else.

I kinda meant to cover the second part with this bit:
the reality of our previous mistakes and resulting league position have hit home instead, as if the blinkers created by Dalglish's first notorious regime have been suddenly turned off relieving the truth
    ...

(The predicting the future was only meant to be applied to the cup final team selection post match moaning , I'm aware Rafa can't predict the future either and that was Comolli's job anyway )

Yes Dalglish has made mistakes this season, numerous tbf but a lot of them went ignored i guess because people had there blinkers on and then had Comolli as a scape goat (and more importantly some of the players/those that came with him).

What i don't understand has been the vast negativity surrounding Carroll since he's arrived, There's been several occasions were he's been mocked heavily and Dalglish has been mocked for signing/playing him on our boards.. I've been one of few supporting him and wanting him to start (this isn't specifically about this thread btw, i know Droid has been supportive of him too), he then scores in a semi final and all of a sudden Dalglish is getting slaughtered for not playing him from the start If you'd of asked people a month ago who should start very few would of picked Carroll.

Then we see similar hypocrisy when it comes to the midfield.... This time in the opposite sense with Jay Spearing, the majority sound his praises all season (Because he's a local lad) then criticise Dalglish for playing him and he doesn't do well

As if that isn't enough who here wouldn't of picked Bellamy and Downing?.... Well it seems no one on the forums would of after they'd seen the first half and decided that Kuyt/Maxi should of started, unfortunately Kenny doesn't have the benefit of being able to see into the future.

I have no complaints about the final what so ever, the players did well and showed great spirit... Yes we might of won if it had been for a different tactical approach but he gave the approach that most had been asking for the majority of the season and we were some what unlucky anyway.

I'm not directly defending Dalglish here but rather criticising the outlook of what seems to be the majority and there ability to change there opinion after watching the game... Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?

Now lets tackle the Dalglish situation head on with a level head, If the Carroll header was given and we'd gone on to win the cup then there's no doubt at all that everyone would be singing his praises right now for bringing us to two trophies and even specifically for bringing Carroll on and changing the game... But that's no what happened so the reality of our previous mistakes and resulting league position have hit home instead, as if the blinkers created by Dalglish's first notorious regime have been suddenly turned off relieving the truth... So to sum up one game and potentially one moment has caused the vast majority to change there opinion from a god who can do no wrong to a man who's out of touch...

If we are to move forward we the fans have to learn from our mistakes and approach the club/game with a level head. Should Dalglish be sacked? because we lost the cup final? No. Because of the mountain of mistakes that came before? Possibly but why recognize them now when everyone was ready to forgive?

I think it may well pan out that Dalglish is voluntarily moved on to the backroom staff and someone is brought into to replace him as such. The top of my list would be another manager who opinions changed very quickly and naively on in one Rafael Benitez....

(pick from this what you will it's pretty quickly written but isn't an attack on any individual posters in here)
I agree with 90% of that mate.

As far as Jay Spearing goes I'm happy to see him do well. I'm also happy to defend him from some critics that are way over the top. He was very under estimated and had some great games this season.

However, is he punching above him weight? I'd say yes. But that doesn't mean he deserves all the critisism he has had.

Would I have started him yesterday? No. I wasn't the only one worried when I seen him on the sheet. And he was found out big time. He was out of place and at fault for both of their goals.

In another note it's makin me laugh how everyone is saying City MUST win their last game. If Seansea win today City need just a point to guarantee but could lose their last game with a goal difference of at least 11 (should swansea beat Utd)

To me we tried but were outplayed for a lot of the game, It's only the teams spirit that almost got us back in the game.

Yes certain players could of performed better (specifically Reina and your beloved Enrique) but i don't think that was through lack of effort but rather a bad day at the office against a tough opponent.

I honestly feel proud of the team and what they almost achieved/how they went about doing so.

As for the last bit i don't think that's a problem you'll have to worry about and hope you view Maxi/Kuyt and possibly Agger in the same light. (basically i think they will all be off whether we want it or not, Agger less so than the others but still very much a possibility).

I think theres plenty of others we need to worry about before Pepe. He is a solid performer and not the only one whose level has dropped this season. He has been found out one too many times at the near post though and something he needs to address.

Im sure try did give a **** but maybe it's right what Kenny said. Inexperience. Henderson needs to pull his socks up an get stuck in. Downing needs to believe in his own ability and take players on rather than going or the one two and/or crossing the ball without looking up as if to say he done his job by putting it in a dangerous area.

Gerrard was trying to do everyone's job and was so deep in the 1st half probably because he didn't trust those 2 behind him.

I think everyone knows my views on Jay and i've been a critic of his even at reserve level but it's not his fault he's in the team and i can't fault his effort he's just not up to scratch.

The reason i mentioned him is i've seen the majority in EST talked about in time in a light i've never seen him for some time, saying how good he is and how he should start games while Lucas is out.... Up until after yesterday when everyone jumped on the bandwagon of shipping him out and never playing him again... It's that which annoys me more, how the general consensus and individual posters can change there general over-view of a player so easily.

Oh and what ammused me more was everyone saying it was all over after City beat United

Yeah, I know that. Just don't know where he's coming from sometimes.

Been out of here a lot lately. Spending TOO much time on X11.

BTW - I've had no response from you re a certain Cup match we were engaged in the other day.
