    Gangster No 1

Cracking film, proper portrayal of scummy gangsters in their nasty little world...the main protagonist was brilliantly played by Paul Bettanny.

Not usually a fan of gangster movies that glorify the lifestyle or violence, but this film didn't do that at all...although the main guy got to the top and was scary as Hell, he was also really pathetic and souless.

    Recommended film.

Money Talks (6.5/10). Hilarious, just because of Chris Tucker.

Rear Window (9/10). I like these kinds of movies, I mean the classic. Grace Kelly was such a beautiful woman.

    Alfred Hitchcock is a LEGEND!!

I love Hitchcock but this is definitely one my least favourites of his.

I just watched a few movies of his which are Strangers on a Train, Psycho and Rear Window, obviously. But, I love Hitchcock not just because of these movies, it's because of his TV Series too. What a great man!

Yeah, I prefer those other two, especially Psycho.

Psycho, Rope and Dial M for Murder are probably my 3 favourites.

Finally got around to watching Super 8 recently. Very decent flick I thought. Sort of like the Goonies meets Independence Day.

    8/10

Nice to see plenty of people who appreciate Hitchcock here...I actually watched "strangers on a train" only a day or two ago.

    Also recently watched...

"Citizen X" - Russian serial killer flick based on true events

    and

"Zodiac" - More serial killing true event type of fare.

Enjoyed the Hell out of both of them.

Watched "Barton F.ink" &"The Big Lebowski" the other night, the latter was a fun film that put me in mind of "Repo Man" for some odd reason...not sure why.

Mods, sort out the swear filter eh?, I shouldn't have to arse about when typing the title of a legitimate film.

Zodiac is one I've been meaning to see - well worth a watch I take it then? Is it a slow story or one that keeps the momentum going?

As far as i remember its a very good watch. Only seen it once a good while ago but remember loving it. Think the pacing was good.

Forgot about this thread recently. Watched Super a few days ago. A bit like an adult Kick-Ass. Lots of gore. I know the regular-guy-tries-to-be-superhero thing has been done to death and this doesn't really break any new ground but it is really watchable for a hyperactive, borderline maniacal, Ellen Page. She really makes the movie but Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The American Office) as the lead and Kevin Bacon as the bad guy are great too.

I'd watch it again and that's fairly rare - 8/10

    I totally had a superhero/marvel day on friday .

    Green lantern 5/10
    Thor 7/10
    Green hornet 8/10
    Johan hex 8/10

Johan hex was the one I was most impressed and surprised by, a totally differnt take on the usual superhero film/marvel comic film, and fully enjoyed it all the way .
Green hornet was good and funny and deliverd what I was expecting .
Thor I thought was done really well also and enjoyed it throughout .
Green lantern ... Disappointed me really, but then I wasn't expecting much , Doesn't help I think Reynolds is a douche and doesn't suit the superhero mold . Hard to see him outside of the van wilder persona .

For me, it slightly tailed off a bit towards the end...but I still say it is well worth a watch, it's a generally decent film that should hold your interest.

Your twilight list is completely out of order:

    Twilight 6.5
    New Moon 6
    Eclipse 7.5

Haven't seen the latest one as I don't like watching just the first part of two-parters.
