Football is a team game and an individual can perform to it's best only in a well oiled machine. Numerous are examples of teams with less famous players outperforming fancy stars. Manchester United is probably one good example of that, so was the Rafa's Liverpool. Of course having top players help, but it seems to me that Chelsea are playing fantasy football and collecting very similar players. Hazard is an entertainer, he has skill and talent. But it takes more to succeed at very top level. I've watched him more than 15 games last year and he has some negative sides too. First and foremost is work effort. Second is defense and third is personality.

Hazard has been miles better than Mata ever was in Spain, he has 20 some goals this year... that is probably higher than Mata's career total. who knows how things will translate, but he looks better to me than Mata did by quite a bit. Not to mention Mata had Villa and Silva in his team, Hazard has to play with Joe Cole

Silva and Villa left Valencia a few years haven't they ?
Besides who played with Mata he still played in a much tough league , and played well last season too.
