Hopefully the "Irish" team can spring a few surprises again! Still baffles me how Morgan and Joyce could play for England after playing for us though. Bad enough having to import southern hemisphere players to give us a chance without watching our own talent pull on the England kit...

I can guarantee there will be riots if India go out in the group stages.
indian fans don't take defeat too well

neither do pakistani fans but there have been several instances in the past where the indian crowd have lost it when the team starts losing

vis-don't remind me off the match...i was 7 and sohail's gesture is imprinted on my mind...so is his glum expression afterwards when he gets out and is sitting outside

don't want to take anything away from you as there is no proof but there is a widely held belief here that the quarter in bangalore was fixed

I would believe anything people say about match-fixing when it comes to India Pakistan matches. Even in India, everyone thinks that the possibility of an India-Pakistan match being fixed is very high. And back then India's captain was Azharuddin so it is even more probable, considering that it was proven he had fixed matches and was banned. He is a Member of the Parliament now

Try and make a post that makes sense.

And it's Bangladesh, only fools call us Bangla. It's the equivalent of calling England 'Eng' or New Zealand 'New Zea'.

Can't wait for the opening match, a lot of pressure is on us as well...

It was mentioned on radio here yesterday that people can be bet on a no ball being bowled and players have been payed by gamblers just to bowl a certain no ball in a certain over.
    Can someone expand?

    @ JohnTheRed,
I only defended myself with that reply that you deleted. Didn't mean to upset anyone. Don't you think that his comment should be deleted as well?

Joyce has been given a dispensation from the ICC and is clear to represent Ireland again. Good player. Should give us a chance of springing a surprise again.

    This gave me a chuckle.
    Football
Matt Le Tissier bet on the timing of the first throw-in in a match he played for Southampton against Wimbledon in 1995. The plan failed when a team mate who was unaware of the scam managed to keep his underhit pass on the pitch Le Tissier was forced to quickly kick the ball from play to prevent himself losing money on the bet but neither won nor lost money after managing to kick the ball out after 70 seconds. He stated that he felt so silly about the incident that he never did it again.

Oooooooh looking forward to this. My heart says England but my head says Sri Lanka, suppose it depends on the pitches, I believe we're taking 3 spinners, so I would like wickets that turn please Plus if he's fit we do have the best spinner in the world.

England can beat anyone on their day, just hope they sort out their batting.

For the cricket fans out there, let's chat about the World Cup in this thread.

SA have to be the favourites, by far the best team

Aussies have this in the bag. Optimism aside I'd say South Africa and Sri Lanka are the ones to watch.

Pretty comfortable for India so far. Tendulkar dismissal is disappointing.

I don't think the Aussies will be a threat in this world cup. They're not that dominant force any more. Have to watch South Africa and India. They competed against each other not to long ago, and it was very tightly contested.
