on the swaan-ajmal debate, i think atm, ajmal is perhaps a better odi bowler and swaan a better test bowler
as much as i like ajmal, he bowls a bit too quickly for me and he has admitted this himself that he's scared of giving air to the ball...i've always enjoyed spinners that give air to the ball and who tend to beat the batsmen in flight and in subtle variations which is why i've always enjoyed watching people like warne, vettori and swaan
Gambhir is the arguably the most out of form player in the team. Just because he got a good score in the previous test, doesn't cover up the fact that he has been woeful with the bat, especially in tests over the past year.
I'd like to see Kohli given one more test. Just for him to prove himself, as I still think he has a couple of fighting 70-80s in him. I'd like to see Laxman replaced by Rohit Sharma, for the next test. Both Kohli and Rohit were the stand-out players, in the warm-up games, and will most likely be there, the next time, the Indians tour Australia, so they'll gain some much needed experience and it will help them in the future.
Pattinson and Cummins for me, are much better prospects than Starc. So I think, India may have a better test with the bat. Australia, generally, have had bad luck for some time now, I just hope that this crop of bowlers overcome all these little niggles and come back strong.
Warney gets Marsh : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFoEGe96MK8
-Manbat-, don't really think Bresnan will be a loss for them, in these conditions. I expected him to get pummeled all over the place in these conditions, as I do for all English bowlers except Swanny. What would I get for predicting Rehman getting Pieterson, in all the innings?

it will be interesting to see if we go in with 2 seamers or 3
i want cheema to play but the team management might decide to go with variety and play wahab or junaid
looks like finn is going to step in
or will you be guys going in with 2 spinners in monty?
Junaid will definitely play. I think his performances in the tests against Sri Lanka, under those conditions cemented his place in the side. Gul is obviously nailed on. Cheema will most likely be the replacement if one of them gets injured, while Wahab will watch the series from the side-lines, and then be dropped in the next series.
Our batsmen will milk Monty. I expect Misbah and Younus to absolutely crush him on his comeback.
It's always good to hear such confidence!!
I'm not a huge fan of Monty's tbh, so I'd go with the 3 seamers, however this choice is just down to my own blind stupidity rather than any sense!!!!
I think, that's what so good about Misbah's reign. We know what we're going to get in Tests. We know, that our batsmen will be sent out with instructions to just stay out there for as long as they possibly can, and that plan will not change no matter what. Whether we require 200 something runs, in 50 overs. We will try to go for the win, and see where we are after 10 overs. If we've lost 2 wickets, we won't come out of our shell for the next 40, and just play out the draw. So expect a lot of boredom, when it comes to our batting.
Me neither. It'll be good for your team, if you go with three seemers.
You've mistaken us for our brothers across the border. You couldn't whitewash us in England, You're defo not going to whitewash us in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Tbf, I think, Your tour is at a really good time, for your lot. Any time other than this, and Trott would've had to take out that silly lil' thing, he wears around his neck.

cheema bowled really well too
the fact that junaid is coming back from an injury and would be straight away going into a test might work against him
its really strange how they dealt with wahab
i'm a little less confident though
england haven't been great in subcontinent so that neutralises some aspects and we have been winning against weaker sides
needless to say it will be very intriguing and as monis pointed out don't be surprised if its boring
that seems about right...we have favoured 2 seamers in the recent past and don't be surprised if hafeez gets to open the bowling considering both your openers are left handers
younis khan can bowl some lethal outswingers and can get the ball to reverse. serious
i rate cheema. we might not risk junaid if we're going in with 2 seamers but cheema is a more than able replacement. he runs in hard and has a mean inswinger to the right handers
Cheema consistently bowls it in corridor of uncertainty, and produces a beauty out of nowhere at times. Really successful against the left-handers.
Its all spin. Younus bowled some beautiful spells in Sri Lanka a few years ago, but then hasn't bowled since for some reason. If things get really desperate, he might be thrown on.
Hafeez can provide a really solid platform. He always plays his natural game, thus we usually get off to a fast start. Younus is in great form right now, and when he gets in, he can genuinely take the game away from the opposition as he's more than likely to get a century. Misbah, Taufeeq and Azhar Ali might not have the ability to take the game away from you, but they definitely have the ability to take the momentum away from you, as they'll infuriate the hell out of English seemers and spinners, with their dead bat approach.
As Junaid and Cheema are virtually unknown quantities to your lot, You should know that both of them have bags of talent. Junaid, when he gets his reverse swing going, is on par with Amir, and does possess the ability to cause unrest in the English batting line-up. You know what Gul is all about. And then there's Ajmal's variations.
Younus Khan got Sangakkara (I think) out, who was trying to leave a ball way outside off stump, in Sri Lanka, so yes, Younus is an option.
The strengths are Younus & Ajmaal IMO. Like you've said, we have (on recent showings) more match winners & more solid performers, but it's sub-continent type conditions and you never quite know which Pakistan side will turn up!!
Tbh I think it's going to be down to the batting on both sides & how disciplined the bowling attacks are.
