Same (except I'm very much a county girl!)
The amount of county and international cricket England has is probably the reason why we have no interest in the IPL. Fans of all three wouldn't be able to keep up with it all if their lives depended on it.

Muhammad it's not that popular at all really. ITV1 is the main channel, ITV2 has spin-off shows from ITV1 and entertainment, whereas ITV4 has the more older classic shows and the odd European football game due to its ties with ESPN.

    Yep spot on.

The thing about sport for me, I have to have an attachment to a team or individual (for individual sports like tennis) for me to fully appreciate it.

I have always loved playing Cricket and can appreciate the drama and fun it can throw. But it wasn't until the 2005 ashes series I really started to get into it (watching it that is), as it had terrestrial tv coverage. Since then I have become very attached to the England side and from there I find it easy to transfer that to watching other international cricket teams.

But sadly I just can't find a way to become attached to county cricket.

If any of that makes the slightest bit of sense...

Haha, yeah it makes sense I'm more county cricket, probably because in Yorkshire it is a much bigger thing than in other counties for example.

It's good to know we have people who love cricket and are still untainted by the IPL.

The BCCI should be stripped off power just for making a mockery of cricket by introducing the IPL to the world.

the bcci should be stripped for many other things

there was a discussion going on in one of the local channels here that espnstar have negotiated some kind of broadcasting deal with bcci and there is no mention of pakistan-india series nor is there any mention of a pakistan-india series in the icc future tours programme...there was also something about the ministry directly running the bcci which i think isn't allowed

This wouldn't surprise me at all..the ministry and the bcci are one single entity. The ******s who run the BCCI come from the ministry anyway

As you know well, I would shoot the whole lot of them and get it over and done with..shame that no one thinks as I do

till now i think it was an indirect or unofficial relationship but now they seem to be wanting to make it official and if that happens then we can forget pakistan-india series for some time which is such a shame

yes i know you feel that way...but since you bring it up, is the average person in india happy with the bcci and how its in some way become america of the cricketing world?

Na, it's simply down to coverage.

Started watching it and just couldn't stop watching it after that.

And nope, born 1988. Been supporting Liverpool as long as I can remember.

Yeah cricket's never been high on the terrestrial tv sports showing list, which is sad as I love the BBC theme tune for it.

Ooo you're 3yrs older than me (for the record, I did have you as about my age)

And that is all kinds of brilliance!

PS Nothing better than the sight and sound of those wickets flying out the ground. If you're bowling that is haha!

    Haha, fair game then.

It is amazing, I always try to do the clicky sounds with my tongue whenever I hear it Yeah I'm guessing if you're the one currently batting the sounds of wickets flying somewhat kinda sucks

When ever I am watching a game and there is a lull, nothing perks me up more than when Jimmy or Broad manage to knock those stumps out!
