    Dear diary

I am still struggling to adjust. I keep telling myself that the move was the right thing but doubts creep in.

I don’t feel one of the boys here. At Liverpool I’d go into training, see Dirk’s face, and immediately feel better about myself. I miss this.

Today at training I made another faux pas. We were getting changed and JT dropped his armband, I picked it up and handed it back to him. Everyone went quiet. I had to go and stand on the naughty step for 10 minutes. Nnobody is allowed to touch his armband unless he hands it to them. I don’t even know why he needed to wear it, we were only going swimming.

That’s the second time I’ve been on the naughty step this week. We were playing five-a-side and Frank took a shot, it hit me then two defenders, crashed against the post and went in off the goalkeeper's back. I queried why Frank was celebrating so much as it was clearly an own goal. I had to stand on the step for 20 minutes that time.

After swimming JT tried to make small talk to build bridges. He asked me how my new house is and I told him it was great, but the drive was very narrow and I struggled to get my Range Rover through. He said he knew what I meant as it took him ages too. I don’t understand as I haven’t invited him around yet, perhaps it’s some Cockney nonsense. I nodded.

We then all had something to eat. I finished first and went to leave the table, everyone looked astonished. I was told I had to ask first, so I asked. JT, Frank, Didier and Ashley then had a five-minute debate about it and gave me permission.

The tactics talk for the Manchester United game was interesting. All about pressing and watching their key players, which areas to exploit, who is getting picked and how we’ll be set up. Mr Abramovich is a very accomplished speaker.

Ashley brought a gun in last week, this big rifle thing. I was bemused as to why but JT explained to me it was part of his new training ground tours. Apparently the ‘punters’ had been concerned they weren’t getting value for their ten grand a go and so Ashley and JT are setting up a clay pigeon range so the corporates can do some team building after he’s showed them around the facilities. He told me it’s all part of being a captain and then touched his armband and growled.

    It’s certainly very different here.

    Fernando

    Another Torres thread .

    Here's my take;

Thought to myself that I've made the worst mistake in coming here but than again, my old club just got battered by a team fighting for relegation. Just watch Arsenal lose to Birmingham in the Final of the League Cup, and now it seems that 6th place in the league won't guarantee an European place next season. My old club is occupying that spot currently though.

Looking forward to overtake Spurs for that 4th spot so that we can be in the CL next season. Won't be thinking about CL next season if I am still at my old club. Maybe I did make the right decision to move on?

    That OP was hilarious.

I understand Torres wanting to leave. He's a top player and wants trophies/Champions League football, something we can't offer him. We can't even offer him European football at all next season, were he still here. Let's face it.

I don't understand, however, the club he went to. I don't get that at all. Chelsea don't often win the Premier League, they win it if United have a bad season. They've never won the Champions League, and you could write their history on a postage stamp. So what reason would he have to move to Chelsea? If he'd have gone to United I'd have been absolutely STEAMING, even more furious on an epic level than I was that he went to Chelsea, but you know what? I would have at least understood his reasons for going to United.

    Dear Diary

    10:30am
Terry keeps looking at my missus, I'm sure he's had her. I can't help pulling my face every game thinking about it. I miss rooming with Kuyt, at least I didn't have to worry.

    11:00am
Today in training I almost scored, I was showing some of the u13's how to shoot and my shot just was brilliantly saved by the u13 reserve keeper.

    11:30am
Carlo asked if I wanted to play in midfield, I said no I can't pass. He said how much did you cost again? I think he was joking. I think.

    12:00pm
I asked Didier for the salt he refused to pass it me

    12:30pm
There's a team building exercise but I missed it

    2:00pm
Training went well I was picked last again though

    4:00pm
    I've scored! I can't believe that strike.....

    I need to upload that.

JT should be greatful that he didnt have to bend over and pick it up himself. With more yellow cards than goals he might just do anything to score.
