If you like going on your bike, there is a good off road path that you can join in Maghull which takes you to Southport, its a nice easy run which takes about 1 to 1.5 hours each way, its the Cheshire lines path but its part of the Trans Pennine Trail which is obviously a little further.

or the Leeds to Liverpool canal, which goes through Maghull, its not great after Melling towards Liverpool, but the opposite way again towards Southport is a real nice ride.
Come live in sunny Wrexham Ayles![]()
Best of luck ayles in your search. Stano has done a brilliant job selling Maghull and would agree with him it is a decent place to live. I prefer Crosby and like its location on the beach for walks and cycling is good on the front. The places you visited on the wirral sound great so good luck with that.
I think Matt should set up a poll, we get to vote and you have to move to the place that wins!

Crosby is nice, a few real nice plays but can be a rougher in o the places Like most I guess, if I had my choice id prefer Formby, but that's going much further field and out of my price range but at the end of the day its what you want and can afford, i live within my means and that suits me but obviously others will have better idea what they want.
Maghull is far from perfect but it does have a perfectpizza (see other thread), just a basic town, not fancy by any means there are many better places to live and much more attractive to the eye, but it suits my lifestyle and income.
Good luck in your house hunt.
Ayles, you'll have to change your username to Wirralred![]()

nice quiet estate in Knowsley. just a few doors away from stevie g's best mate.
I wish. We rent a new ish house over the road from where you turn into Poplar Ave. It is lovely round here. I walk the dog most days down past the Northern to the farmers fields at the back or take him to the beach. That is what I like about round here, you've got all the amenities locally but it's also pretty quiet. We looked at a house on Brownmoor park which was nice but opted for our current place instead.
Oh and the ale in Stamps is spot on!
No mirrors?
Good luck to you if you go to the Wirral. There's a whole lot of chances for good houses there. Plenty of activities on account of being right on the river.
Zoopla is a good site for info.
We've looked at this one. Not exactly where you are after. But for the price & the fact of off street parking & a view (or so the brother said)....real nice.
