Nice idea this. I'm surprised theres so many Aussies on here! Thought RP or whatever he calls himself these days was the only one

Just a quick note to say your all welcome over in the guessing game players lounge any time. We would love to get a load of Aussies involved in the GG because if you are anythin like RP (guardifmagog) then you'll fit right in!...

We have 2 NZer's in Tuta an LFCsince73 but as far as I'm aware RP is the only Aussie

Plus registration for the Copa America game is up an running now!

Feel free to cone over an ask any questions

I am from the UK but been in Aus since Nov 09 on a workiing holiday visa

    loving it!

In Melbourne at the moment, and looking for work for my last 6 months that would have the potential to be upgraded to a sponsorship visa if they decide i am doing a good job!

Nice thing is, melbourne winter ~13C, UK summer ~15C

never really seen fosters since I have been here... seems the aussies export the crap beer and keep the better for themselves.

Drink Carlton or TEDs myself, depending which is on special in woolworths at the time

was going to look for IT, but cos i was only just starting to get a IT career when I left the UK been struggling with lack of experience... even though I have a degree and MCDST certification. Also most IT companies seem to want to employ someone on a visa already, so cos I only have 6 months left at the moment its putting them off. Even tried saying "the first 6 months before the sponsorship visa is needed could be looked at like a trial period."

so cos of that looking for anything, probably office based or call centre. Have some experience in those from the UK, even if it was a smallish call centre.

On Seek everyday at the moment... got a woman to call back later as well. Phoned at 10:30 but she was in a meeting and was told she would get back to me, but if she hasnt by 3 will try again.

In St Kilda at the moment so close to the city!

I prefer Melbourne to the other cities I been too, Sydney/Brisbane/Cairns/Adelaide. Adelaide was a bit of a **** hole to be honest!

Do want to visit Perth and Darwin at some stage, Perth I have been told is very nice but not much too do there so only worth couple weeks visit and Darwin I wouldnt want to live there permanently cos it gets so hot, want to go for short visits though.

Too true. It can get pretty dull here, more of a family city though. It's nice and quaint.

Sydney is great...if you were here I could have helped you with suburbs and stuff for you to buy a house.. I did a bit in real estate when I was studying in uni..

I dont watch "gay"fl... although I did go to the Collingwood vs St Kilda game at the MCG last week...

Seeing it live confirmed what I figured from seeing a couple of matchs on Foxtel, there seems very little skill or tactics to it, just need to be able to kick a ball, have good stamina and then all run towards the ball!

Seemed very few tactics or positional sense, proper football is so much better!

Although one of my house mates who only been in australia a month has decided she likes watching it for "all the hot men" and appartently collingwood have more of them then st kilda, so she might switch to them even though was rooting for st kilda cos we liove there.

Well, you can get players like Jason Akermanis who was as talented with a ball as I've seen in AFL, some of the boundary line goals he scored were incredible. But then you have players like Jason Dunstall and Tony Lockett who were two of the legends of the 90s.....
