    Only 10 days away now!
Figured we may as well have a thread for it, could a mod maybe make this a sticky?

Just post anything about the game. Your starting XI, include possible signings if you wish

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the formation, I'd start as we mean to go on. Pre season is a great opportunity for Kenny and Clarke to put their plans into practice.

    _____________Reina(c)______________
    Kelly______Ayala___Wilson_____Johnson
    ____________Spearing______________
    _______Aquilani_____Shelvey_________
    __Pacheco_______________Suso______
    _____________Carroll_______________

A good mix of experience and youth I think. Obviously the stars away at the Copa America won't be available, and I'd also give the new lad Henderson a rest. I think at least a half would do big Andy well, and maybe he can notch a goal for some confidence to take forward. Suso and Pacheco deserve a chance in my opinion, and I know Suso is not a winger so don't jump on me! All the attacking midfielders can rotate positions so he wouldn't be glued to the left. A run out would do Kelly well too after his injury. Also a big chance for the two young centre halves to stake a claim.

    Thoughts?

    Will Shelvey still be here?

I would be surprised if any of the first team start the first couple of friendlies.

I'd assume so? Kenny seems to like him.

I've only included a few first teamers, a couple I feel would benefit from a run out.

Glen Johnson i's day would find himself hugely unfit.. the man sweats buckets when he is fit, imagine him over in Asia in that humidity trying to regain fitness!
Kelly and Carroll are another two who have had their breaks and need to get fit now.. Cole if he is staying really needs a good pre-season, he needs to regain not just fitness but confidence imo!

Agger! nearly forgot about him.. he might need to be eased into it but he needs decent minutes during pre-season defo!

I hope the likes of Sterling, Coady and Suso feature in pre-season. Hopefully, if they get a game, they will give Kenny something to think about for the new season.

Morgan and Sterling will need a rest after the u17 World Cup.

I didn't inclue Flanagan and Robinson as they already showed they are good enough at the back end of last season, I reckon a loan out for some game time could benefit them this season. Ayala and Wilson though have something to prove so I'd start them.

Reports seemed to link him heading to Blackpool on loan

I would be very surprise to see sterling play in this match as he could be still in mexico on the 10th of july and anywhere the reserves play on the 12th so suso and co might be playing in that friendly instead.

Reina??? how is he getting on. I would expect him and the other goalkeeper to play 45 minutes each

I don't know what the team will be, but I can't wait to see who is in the squad fo this tour

    ------------------------Jones
    Darby----------Ayala-----------Wilson-------Robinson
    Amoo----------Spearing--------Aquilani-------Suso
    ----------------Ngog-----------Eccleston

Hopefully Jones is sold by then but if not then perhaps a good game in goal might increase the chances of someone offering for him. Jury's still out on the likes of Amoo, Darby, Eccleston, Ngog and Aquilani so we'll have to see if they can impress before we decide to let them stay or go.

Yeah, especially those who were injured : Kelly, Carroll and Agger, that would be a huge risk. I think they will only against Hull or Valencia.

I doubt kenny will be moaning much about the player he can use. He knows this is a good chance to try out new things.
Unlike last summer where Roy moaned about half the team been young players

I would like to point out that Reina hasn't travelled so certainly won't be in the starting line-up.
