Why did Brady throw that? There was always a big chance that would be intercepted.

Well very rarely you see an offensive TD being favourable for the defence but Brady gets a big chance now, Giants defence though have come up big since giving up that last touchdown.
What a great finish to the game though.

Wow that was so, so close to being a catch.

Well done Giants, even though they did dump my Niners out in the Championship game, at least we lost to the eventual winners & another classic Super Bowl between the Giants & Patriots.

That was 5 years ago, get over it. And the games in question were pre-season affairs. Oh, and EVERY team was doing it but the Pats got caught. Everyone with inside knowledge of the game acknowledged this at the time. It was a zero-sum game for all involved.

Despite the last minute score putting the Giants ahead for good, that will likely go down as one of the dullest Super Bowls in recent memory.

The Giants were 9-7 in the regular season and they played like a 9-7 team tonight. The Pats were hamstrung by inept team selection (leaving in the seriously hobbled Gronkowski and the entirely ineffectual Ochocinco) and a quarterback who seems to have lost his ability to make plays that count in big situations. Tom Brady was horrible tonight, there's just no getting past that fact. There were some dropped passes in the last possession sequence that might have turned the tide, but it was Brady who made poor decisions, in the very first possession and throughout the game, that allowed the Giants to stay within striking distance.

Credit to the Giants who backed up their big talk leading into the game and doing what they had to do to win, but really this game was tactically boring, unevenly executed by both sides, and in six-month's time will be entirely forgotten. For me, it was equivalent to the most ordinary regular season game one is forced to watch at a colleague's house during a holiday party.

Not to be pedantic, but they also filmed the red zone drills of the St. Louis Rams practicing before the Super Bowl.

I'm sorry the team you wanted to win didn't, but that was a great game. It was exciting, nailbiting, and the winning score came in the last minute of a game. What more could you want? I guess if your team could catch a football then you might have a had a chance, and then you might have said differently.

That story was found to be misreported by a Boston-area newspaper and the article was fully retracted. There was never any evidence of wrongdoing by the Patriots in that matter.

Does it really seem like I'm making excuses for the Patriots missing so many opportunities? Saying a game is boring is not the same as excusing the poor play of a team.

It was only nailbiting in the last 10 minutes, which, as it turned out, was the only part of the game worth watching. The rest of it was an exceedingly dull affair with a mediocre team beating a better team who played a notch or two below what they're capable of.

Kind of like we've seen with our Reds playing "smaller" sides to draws and losses this season.
