Review
At the end of the season, we could look back at Round 29 as the turning point of the title race as former leader, Hitmanlfc, produced an exceptional score of 21 points to race clear ahead of the other three contenders. Jayfire also scored quite well with 17 points, but he now lies 7 points adrift of the leader. Madforit1 surrendered top spot and is now joint second, despite a solid round for himself. However, Cumbrian was the player who suffered the most this week as he drifted a further 10 points away from the top. His solid 10 point round just wasn't enough as his title rivals produced even better rounds, leaving Cumbrian in 4th place. There are just 8 rounds left, can Hitmanlfc hold on to his 7 point lead or are we set for more twists between now and the end of the season?!
Despite being involved in the title race, Cumbrian is now also looking over his shoulder at rival, SoontobeChampions who posted a good score of 14 points to move ahead of the pack below. Just 4 points now separate the two former GG champions. Rianaldo and Tardelli59 occupied 5th last week but both had slightly below par rounds, particularly Tardelli59 who could only muster 6 points, probably confirming that he won't be winning this years league title. With a number of playing suffering around him, Tuta had an extremely positive week as he moved up two places into 8th and will be confident that he can push on for an even higher finish.
The battle for a top 10 spot continued this week and got a lot more interesting, due to Jelly5id's and LFCsince's dreadful score of 5 points. This allowed the players on the fringes to close the gap, and Baby1 actually climbed above the duo. Just like last season, it looks like Jelly5id and Baby1 are going to be heading into the last 2 months of the season as rivals as they seek to finish in the top 10. The trio of NACNUD, Skidzy and DarkStrike are also within touching distance of a top 10 finish as all posted solid rounds to put further pressure on Jelly5id and LFCsince73.
In the bottom half, FinnanFOREngland wiped out the gap between himself and LightningLucas and both no sit in 15th, 6 points off the top half. HatrikBerger failed to move up for another week but he still kept up his momentum with a 10 point round. RedCherries performed even better than that with 12 points, and he must now be ruing all those missed rounds which could've seen him fighting it out for the title. Boston-Sox and SinglishScouser failed to post and are now clinging on to a top 20 spot.
Finally, Shmar and GunnerWinTheLeague cancelled each other out this week, meaning Shmar stays ahead by 1 point. However, with the duo ahead of them failing to post, Shmar and Gunner successfully managed to close the gap on their target of a top 20 finish and it'd be a great achievement for the two players who've spent the whole season in the lower echelon's of the league. SirStiffler couldn't take full advantage on 4ever's awful round as he remains 3 points adrift of the Garcian. Whilst Tony seems to have given up on the game, SonOfSid also failed to post, meaning returning player Groovstar moved to within 16 points of the youngster.
