This post may not please some people and I do not in some cases mean to offend anyone, however for the last 12 years I have sat on my hands and done nothing about something I feel so strongly about.
First of all let me educate before I rant and rave.......(this is in case you didn\'t know)
Virtually, ever year since Hillsborough, there has been a cross denomination service held at Anfield in rememberance to the People who lost their lives at Hillsborugh in 1989. The service covers all aspects and is not religious driven more, a congregation of people gathered together to join in remembering the people who died doing something they loved.....and which you still love today.
I find it very disturbing that a team that has so called huge support and so called the best supportes in the world and so called the voice of football - CANNOT attract more than around 8,000 people to attend these services. This biggest support was shown at the 10th Anniversary at other times the gathering has merely filled half of the Kop.
I understand people have work lives, people have personal lives, people have things they can\'t put off till tomorrow - but at least you have a life to complete these tasks. We must remember and never forget the people that died that tragic day. As supporters of the greatest football club in the world we must join together to show our support to the families in their rememberance to show the families their sons, daughters, fathers, uncles, loved ones did not die forgotten heros.
Lets fill the ground - why not ?? Why can\'t we have 40,000+ people there singing You\'ll Never Walk Alone - is there more appropiate time than this to sing our anthem ?
If you weren\'t at Hillsborough in \'89 that doesn\'t matter your support now is what matters.
If it means you taking a day of work...take a days holiday phone in sick who cares. Life is about priorities well my friends I don\'t see a higher priority task for any of you to do on 15th April 2002.
Please do not see this as me dictating to you as what you should do....but ask yourselves the question - should the people that died ever be forgotten.....if the answer is no they shouldn\'t, then I will see you there, if you feel they should then......
Take Action and join in the support of the families.
They will always be remembered - they will never walk alone

I\'d like to be there, but I\'m in Ireland and it\'ll be only 2 weeks before my finals start. I\'ve always said that whenever I can I\'ll go over for the service, and hopefully that\'ll be next year. I\'d like to dedicate this, my 100th post( a mini-milestone), to the 96 people that lost their lives.
JFT96
YNWA
[This message has been edited by KieranMcD (edited 27 March 2002).]

I have lived in Ireland all my life till 6 yrs ago I moved to London. I met a great girl from there and last year we moved up to where she\'s from which is Bury, North Manchester.
Where her parents live all the streets are named after footy grounds, there\'s an Elland Road, a Goodison Drive. Ironically my birds parents live on Hillsborough Drive. I was thinking about laying a wreath at the sign to the entrance of the street but if it was defaecated or trashed I think I would go mad so I don\'t know if I will or not. But chances are I will spend the day at that Hillsborough in my own pilgrimmage.

I\'ll be there too, same as every year they\'ve had it there. I lost a good mate at Hillsborough.
I\'m a working man but there\'s such a thing as booking time off work, and there\'s such a thing as respect.
Justice for the 96.

I agree with what is said 100% and I am sorry to go negative on this but think of all the reasons that people cannot get there work, family, courses to attend, if the world was an easier place to get time off then word up the ground would be filled, but we are not all ruled by such a situation we are ruled by the boundaires that surround us.
I love LFC and everything that its stands for but lets be realsitic 8000 is a very good figure

15th April is my wedding Anniversary. In 1989 I was at home as i couldnt get a ticket, the pictures I saw that day will stay in my memory for ever. We always remember the 96 on a day that is special to usbut I have never been to the service. Any info on times etc. would be appreciated.

The organisers normally ask you to be in the seats at around 2.15pm this then gives plenty of time for the families to take their seats without any hassle. The service then starts around 2.30ish culminating in a minutes silence at 3.06pm
After the singing of YNWA the service finishes.
Everyone try and make a difference this year, lets show the families the memories will live on.
They will always be remembered

I won\'t be able to make it to the memorial service as I will be at work in Leicester. However I will be holding my very own minutes silence at 3:06pm in memory of the 96 who went to watch a football match and never came home.
In fact I have never been to any of the memorial services for one thing or another but when I was a student in Sheffield every year I went to the small service that they held outside the ground.
Therefore please do not judge me on my participation in the memorial service as my heart and thoughts will be with you all in rememberance of the 96.
