Seriously, many thought Mancini was crazy for signing so many strikers and many of those signings are written off, including Tevez. However, now, he seems to have got it right with his firepower even though it was an expensive trial and error. Mancini came from a more tactical Seria A background by he may have realised that English Football requires other factors to win. And, since English football is more "open", FIREPOWER could be the answer. Surely, he would have analyzed the more attacking Arsenal and Manure.

Mourinho and Rafa are masters of the counter attack game. It's a surprise both did considerably well in English Football even though they applied the safety/defensive approach. The former earned more 3 points due to the quality of players afforded to him by Roman Abramovich while the latter has less luck due to the lack of transfer funds.

The debate on whether "all out attack or counter attack" is effective may be forever.

One thing for sure... One gets 3 points for a win in Football! Imo, "two wins and a loss" is definitely better than "one win, a draw and a loss" or "three draws".:nowink:

Average overall. Constantly Playing Carroll in the hole behind Suarez baffled me a bit, as did playing hendo RW at the start of the season when he was obviously a much better CM

As good as you could expect missing Suarez, Gerrard and Lucas for parts of the season and trying to gel 8 new players.

Sometimes people judge tactics wrongly, they think certain things don't work when in fact the players are still adapting to Kenny's tactics and won't be fully grasping what is expected.

Looking at it as a whole from when he started I would say good overall, but certainly room for improvment, we are keeping the ball alot more an having high possesion stats and until recentley weve been creating a good amount of chances. I think now we just need to work on some better movement in the final third as we seem very static at times and get more clinical in front of goal.

Really? How on earth can you say that? We've been outplayed once in 20 games, and City though looks like a beating only edged it and nobody has got a point there this season.

So at least in 18/20 games we've been the better side how do you explain that when you clearly thing he doesn't understand the modern game? It's complete nonsense

Average? I don't know how to answer this honestly. I think our issue is down to players rather than coaching and management. I think we have the 6th best squad in England and we're in 6th place. Hard to complain too much about tactics, when I think the squad just isn't that good.

    Average at best.

    1) Back four one of the best in the league. The line up of Skrtel, Agger, Johnson/Kelly and Enrique is the best I have seen in Liverpool for a very long time
    2) Midfield is poor now without Lucas. Adam and Henderson are both simply not good enough to be considered by the top 4 teams and yet KD has so much faith in them
    3) Even with Suarez playing, front line lacks a clinical finisher. Now without Suarez, Liverpool will struggle even more to get things going and score goals

Best buys so far - Enrique, Suarez
Good money burned with no results - Carroll, Adam, Henderson, Downing

I would say they were good.

My only gripe is that we don't counter attack any more, we just build slowly and wait for them to get their defence lined up.

I think tactics like we did to Chelsea, where we basically set a trap for Mikel from the goal kick, that was absolute genius.

High average for me, I would like to see him make earlier changes in some games where we don't look like scoring and use more subs. Although to be fair he has been short on options at times.

I felt last season he used Steve Clarke more, always seemed to be talking to him during the match. I wonder if he should be doing so more at times this season?

He definitely lets things drift too long, his team selections are perhaps as much of an issue as that of tactics. I'm not sure the whole tactic of playing Downing and crossing is working, demonstrated by our joint lowest goals for total in the Premiership ever.

People can point at how we "outplayed" sides, which basically means had more possession and created more chances, but the point is to SCORE and WIN, being the better side and not winning is not in itself validation of tactics.

If we count who plays as part of tactics, and I suppose to a degree it is, then if it is the SAME players missing chances or not playing well then is it not poor tactics not to shake it up a bit? Maybe we're just happy being sixth, having a shot at fourth maybe, and feel like we're progressing and therefore just hoping the thing that does change is our ability to convert chances.

Maybe the truth is, as some have pointed out, they may be technically classed/classable as chances, but in fact we're not creating good chances and that in itself might indicate our tactics are wrong.

Lol, absolute nonsense. He has us playing the best football we've played in ages, and with a bit more clinical finishing, we'd be much better off.

Spurs was the only game we were outplayed. I've watched swansea if you think we wre played off the park your bonkers. City didn't outplay us. They beat us, but costly error, set piece and game gone.

So City and Spurs aside we've definitely been better side in every game hence 18/20.

I mean Spurs and City away the two games we've been outplayed. It sickens me fans here don't understand we were 12th last year we've had gerrard, lucas and suarez now missing for important games and we've been outplayed only twice away to the two best sides in the league this season.

They judge us on that. Not the fact we've beaten Chelsea away twice and Arsenal away. Not that we beat Newcastle with ease, we played City and united at home and were far the better team.

No they'd prefer to focus on two losses away to the two best teams in the Prem. Not fans those people just moaners.

Man City didn't have to out play us, as soon as they got the 2nd goal they just tightened up and let us have the ball, knowing we lack creativity in the final 3rd, we didn't cause them a problem.

    Good.

Playing 442 when we don't have the players for it, not a good decision
    that cost us.

But can't ignore the improvment we made:

We have one of the best defences in the league playing good offence.

Playing attractive football as a principle.

With SG tactics may change and take us to the next level.
With 2 more players even more.

All in all we are on the right trak and can't say enough how much
i love KK at the helm.

That for me was an example of subs made too late, if we had made the changes at half time and come straight at them after the break it could have changed the game. By the time SG and Bells come on the City team just let us have the ball and defended the box, admittedly very well though.

It was clear Kuyt was off the game from the off, I'm not saying it should be done on a regular basis but sometimes a sub made after 30 mins can be a boot up the behind for all player on the pitch.

You know what you're absolutely horrid as a fan. Kenny was given 35m told to reduce the age of the squad, reduce the wage bill by 9m a year, solve the left back position, improve the squad and get us in top 4.

I think we'll finish in top 4. If we'd have have had Steven Gerrard fir for the past 12 months and firing (Something Rafa and Houllier enjoyed they got 30 games a season) and we'd hhad Lucas for full season again something rafa and Hodgson enjoyed we'd be in top4 more likely in a title fight.

In fact you're a complete idiot if you think because Adam has tired playing every week and putting in effort that he's been crap. He's scored 2, assisted in 5 in just 15 games in the premier league as an a central midfielder.

Not as an attacking mid with two holding players behind him he's done it as a centre mid. Henderson and Carroll were the two best british youngsters available and they'll be great players and Downing has been one of the most consistent wingers in the prem.

Soem transfers work out some dont. Rafa signed 86 players in 5 years and only 9 are still here. Ferguson in same time signed 26 and 17 are still at the club.

I guarantee in 5 years time we'll see Enrique, Adam, Henderson, Coates, Suarez and Carroll and you'll see the benefit of long term planning not short term thinking thats ruined this club for the past decade.

You know nothing about transfers. I bet if i asked you to name who we should have signed would be aguero and mata, comepletely overlooking the fact that 1 they wouldn't have come want cl football, something rafa and hodgson failed in last couple years, not kenny's fault.

2 we couldn't afford them they're on double the wages of carroll and downing and KENNY was specifically told without question reduce the massive wage bill bloated to unmanagable levels by previous managers.

Mourinho is overrated tactically. His greatest asset is getting his players to give 110% every game and getting them playing as a team.

I dont really think he is the man we should be pointing the blame at if you arent keen on our tactics. Its Clarke and Keen. Kenny's doing the motivating job imo. Of course they will discuss things together but you always see Clarke on the touchline ordering instructions, whenever Kenny's there he says simple things like "keep it short", "pass quicker" "come on" or "keep it up" etc...

Wo wo wo, I don't think its been and terrible year not by a long way, Rome wasn't built in a day. But I do think Swansea passed of the park that day, we resorted to 25 yard shots because we coulnt break them down, and they bossed the midfield completely, dyer was imense that day and gave Enrique a nightmare.

Dominating team hasn't been our problem, it's putting the ball in the onion bag that has.

To all the people slating Hendo and co...
have you learned nothing from the Lucas saga??? Peeps were slating him non stop and look what a great player he has become! Obviously the managers could see something in him that the slaters didnt, and now everyone understands why they insisted playing him. Same thing for our signings... They may be somewhat expensive but they must be doing something right in order to play week in week out, so just wait and see what happens!

Kenny has managed the club for a year now and for the first half i am sure everyone agrees that he has been excellent. Many appear a bit skeptical regarding the second half of this year, but I believe there is a big picture which is sometimes ignored. Kenny took a team that used to be brilliant for a while under Rafa, but fell apart in the last few years for a number of reasons, and made the necessary adjustment/tweaks in order to 1) stabilize it and 2) make it competitive.

The "stabilization" process is not only reflected in the team (as in players) but in the club as a whole. This includes the team behind the team, the youth system (something that Rafa had already started developing) the scouting system, and the marketing of the club. Granted the last one(s) may be more of a strategy practically employed by the owners but I am sure Kenny is somehow involved in the process. Liverpool FC, the way it is managed by Henry, Kenny, Comolli etc has gone through a stage of stabilization and is now evolving based on what has been done over the past year, the way I see it.

Personally, I am very happy with what has been done so far. Admittedly I do find myself from time to time shouting on the TV because I am frustrated with the effectiveness of the team, but then I sit back think of what was happening this time last year. There are just too many positive improvements for me to get upset.

Thank you King Kenny and co!

Overall, I must say he's done quite well considering his net spend of 35M, he has

reduced the wage by 9 million a year,

Removed a number of rubbish footballers (Degen, El-Zhar, Jovanovic, Joe Cole, Poulsen, Konchesky, Etc)

Solved our defence (in particular the left back problems that we had for years) as now we have conceded the lowest number of goals in the league.

Bought a couple of good signings, (Suarez, Enrique,Bellamy,Adam,Henderson)

Brought about some young players into the scene with good prospect (Shelvey, Kelly)

Improved the team's morale and it being capable of achieving of what's required of them.

Henderson will turn out to be a great player for us but it's annoying when people use this every time a young player is under performing.

But yes we are on the up.
