i suppose building enough strength to hold your own i.e messi, as a couple of you said , would be good, but no more....playing games against big defenders in the first team would surely help this "bulking up"

heard he was going to be on the bench today??

    Chance he might play today.

Wigan would be the perfect club to get game time against.

He has to be on the bench imo, perfect way to get rid of the exit rumours and if we are winning comfortabpy then bring him on and let him do his thing!!

I think it's time to start blood some of the youth. Done in the right way, it can only be postive.

Could Sterling make the bench today?
Personally i cant see it as it would be like Kenny bowing to pressure ehich isnt his style

he's not in the nextgen team that is currently playing in the 3rd/4th place final, so I certainly think there's a good chance of it happening...

We have several players doubtful and Sterling and Suso have been pulled from the next gen game today..... Read into that what you want

Judging by Kennys comments, I reckon he could be in.

Agree also now is the time to start giving these lads a chance similar to how he did last season. To my knowledge none of them have ever let us down, Kenny will know how to use them right though.

@propagandaphoto: Interesting to hear Sterling is on the bench, may as well give the kids a chance now that fourth is out of reach.

Be nice to see downing right and sterling left, I can not remeber the last game we played where we had to real wingers with pace, whom can beat a man start on each wing, Carroll upto with Suarez behinde, gerrard and spearing in the middle .
We are playing bottom league team, why not attack them to the full with pace . Drop our slower players in Kuyt etc for this one .

I highly doubt Sterling will start. But yes, would be nice to see a brief period of having two pacey wingers on at some point in the game.

I think with less than two hours to KO we would have heard something confirming of he was in the matchday squad.

I hope all the rumours going around twitter are true and Sterling is on the bench, it'll do him wonders with confidence just being with the team again. I hope he gets some gametime, even 10 minutes, I think it'll even lift the fans and the rest of the team

Nothing is ever confirmed until an hour before kick off.

Seen he's on the bench, great news for the lad! I just hope the starting 11 bang in a couple at least 30mins before the end so he can get some decent minutes under his belt.. 5minutes would count as a "nice moment" for him, but 25minutes will be great and help develop and would give him a better indication of what he can expect to be up against in future!

I didn't want his development to be rushed but I am quite excited to see how he does today.

Hopefully we get a few early goals.

His 10 minute cameo makes a mockery of both those who says "he is too small etc" and of the useless players in the first team right now.

Well played, son, at least you got a run out and proved you have more to offer!

Nice little start to his career, hopefully plenty more minutes from now until the end of the season.

He looked more threatening in those 10 mins than Kuyt did whilst he was on.

Did more in 7 mins than everybody else did all game. Will probably be dropped next game for that.

    All of this.

You have a good showing and you seem to get rewarded by starting on the bench, or worse.

Was more effective in 10 minutes(or whatever) than henderson has been all season.

    but, he looks good.

He ran around a bit and did it at pace.

Is that how low this season has stooped that that sort of cameo is something to rave about. Jesus.
