Exactly - we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play a huge number of games where it really doesn't matter. Now is the time to throw the youngsters in, experiment with tactics - to be honest, I don't mind us losing if at least trying something different with new players.

We have absolutely nothing to lose.

He's got great talent, and this spring is the time to test him out in PL matches. With Downing on one side, Sterling and Bellers could share the other, playing one half each for the rest of the season.

Wide players I think may be the key to get the best out of Suarez/Carroll/Gerrard when it comes to attacking. This will create more room for them to roam, as well as the potentially lethal crosses from both sides.
I'd like to say I agree with you, but I never know who to agree with anymore since the rep system was abandoned...

    Seriously though, I agree.

We cant afford to slip down the table any more than we already have, but i would love to see Kenny play with some kids in the squad and mix things up, but not mix things up by playing CM as right wings

It's exactly this sort of sentiment that Kenny probably wants to protect him against.

I've seen stranger things happen but i very much doubt Stuart Pearce is going to take a chance on an unproven 17 year old especially when he's in with a chance of the full time job after the euros.

I'd take the under-21's squad and plan ahead for the World Cup in 2018.

There is a good chance that Downing, Henderson and Carroll will not make the 23 man English squad for the Euros.

Unfortunately, Jose Enrique looks unlikely to make the Spanish 23 man squad either.

    Sterling??

Doubt that Sterling would make it, he doesnt need the unwanted media attention that would come with being selected either.

Maybe the lack of call ups, whilst looks poor for the club would bode us well next season after them having an extended break?

There are always tournaments for the younger players.

Whether it be an under 21 or under 19 tournament or even the Olympic Football team (Under 23).

If Sterling is good enough he will get a chance of playing time away from Liverpool FC.

    Why though?

It doesn't make a difference to a club like our in a situation we're in between finishing 6th, and 12th.

Whatever happens we've underacheived, the money really is a relevant for a club with a business model like ours, it's unique, and as said above a once in a lifetime chance.

The only negative would be additional pressure on Dalglish, but the majority will be able to see past the position, with the development of youth.

Even somebody like me who doesn't particularly think Dalglish is the right man to take us forward can appreciate that.

This, to me, I would rather respect KK's contract for another year if he plays youth and we finish 12th rather that sticking with the same dead game plan and finish 7th.

Sterling is clearly very talented but at 17 years, i dont think regular football is advisable. Talent-wise, he may be ready for first team football but physically, he's not. At 17 years old, he still needs to grow in height and develop more muscles. If he plays regularly now, he risks having an injury prone career just like Owen, Pato, Kaka etc. I suggest we use him sparingly then once he clocks 19, he should be very strong physically therefore be a regular starter.

I agree, he shouldn't be a regular starter but he certainly deserves a place on the bench and some sub appearances no matter who we buy this summer (unless we somehow acquire phenomenal depth on the wings). Really don't want to him getting an injury though, so hopefully he understands that is likely to be best for his future if he isn't over-used.
