It is slightly demeaning to Scousers that there is thread on the LFC forums asking people what they think of the locals.
Please don't presume to generalise and stereotype us. You can't ask what you think of Scousers in the same way you can't ask what you think of Cockneys or Geordies or anything.
We are all different and don't fit neatly into people's stereotypes, which I know will be disappointing to some.
I'm not proclaiming to be more entitled than fans from outside of Liverpool, in fact I love that we are a global club and family and I really don't give much creedance to where someone is from, so I don't even know why this is an issue.
But seen as it is to some people, how about showing a bit of respect to the people who live in the city whose football club you support.
You shouldn't generalise about people based on geographical location or accent. Not only is it vaguely insulting, its also counter-productive.
I've been stereotyped because of my accent pretty much any time I've been outside of the city and I don't much care for it.
Like I say, I don't presume to judge people on their accents or where they are from. People from this city are as diverse and different as anyone else from anywhere else.
In summation, Without knowing me, don't presume that you do.
I'm from Liverpool so I've a pretty strong scouse accent. People have been making assumptions based off my accent all my life, so I'm used to it now.
Doesn't mean I appreciate it however. I'm not one of those people who take offence at people mocking my accent or doing anything in good spirits.
But I don't appreciate people making generalisations and speculations based on it. I don't do that with people from London, Birmingham or wherever.
Judge me on my personality, not my accent.
Not really a flowers sort of person but take what I'll get
I haven't been down Garston ways for a few years like.
Closest I've been recently is round Sefton Park ways where my mates live these days. Lovely area, especially compared to Anfield these days.
This place is so ****** desolate and deprived its untrue.
Ridiculous it is. The area has been designated for regeneration since LFC said they were going to build a new ground. Still waiting ten years later.
But the council didn't wait. They knocked down hundreds of houses and evicted hundreds more from houses that are now derelict. Its horrendous.
Its embarassing how deprived this area is. Liverpool in general isn't a particularly affluent city but some areas are beyond awful.
