Isn't it actually Comolli's decision as he is director of football?
Ah, it's hard to tell. I'd better ask Linda.
My confidence in a manager disappears when I don't expect us to beat Wigan at home.
I'm so distraught at our season so far that I don't even care if he stays or leaves. Nothing we seem to do turns out right for us.
Just a guess. I think the management team will be told that their is a limited transfer kitty of perhaps 15 to 20 million pounds plus any funds that can be generated by sales. I also think that our performances in the remaining PL games and in the FA Cup will determine the tone of the discussions in the Summer, success in the Cup and a return to some sort of form in the PL is likely to result in a relatively relaxed atmosphere but with an underlying insistence that the PL form next season must improve dramatically. Success in the FA Cup but no improvement in PL form will result in a firmer approach being taken whilst failure in both will mean probation from the first game onwards next season.
The reason why I said owners give him until Jan 2012 is because the club has already spent masssive amounts in transfers (carroll, Downing, Adam, Henderson, Enrique and Suarez) and Kenny should be given time to see if these players can especially Hedo,. Adam, Carroll and Downing can make it after a full season behind them - if say these players have adjusted to playing for a big club where there is immense pressure and we are challenging for 4th spot then why should they sack Kenny - if not then like Kenny the new manager will have until May to impose his style and phylosophy and above all assess all the players to see who needs to be shipped out and replaced - I think the time to assess the players is in season not Pre-Season - the scenarios are different and one gets a better balance when assessing players during the season
Once the New Manager has assessed the situation then he can plan his transfer targets with the heirachy and then have a full pre-season with all his players and start a fresh
Dear Mr Dalglish,
Why did I let you talk me into rehiring you? This is a disaster man.
I know you won the Curling Cup but dude it's hardly the Super Bowl.
I've been having lots of sleepless nights recently (have you seen my wife?)
I know you're better than this. I'll give you and Camoli another shot.
Try buying some good players this time.
Yours faithfully (for the time being at least)
John W. Henry
Give him some time FFS. We´re not Chelsea.
Whatever decision they come to, it should be done over the summer.
If they choose not to stick with Kenny then keep him manager until the end of the season. Getting any replacement manager with 10 games to go will be very difficult, let alone a quality replacement.
I found a stat that is interesting
Roy Hodgeson in his 20 games averaged 1.25 points per game
King Kenny in his last 20 games has averaged 1.20 points per game
Yet Roy Hodgeson got sacked for lack of results , we have taken 8 points in 33 since Jan 1 2012.
Is that good enough ????
I say no and dont say we have 1 a cup and might get 2 cups , if we finish outside the top 10 then it is a complete failure .
The league is the 1st priority not cups they are secondary to finishing top 4 or as LEAGUE champions.
To me there seems to be some players getting payed lots of money and putting in half hearted performances and dont seem to me to have any pride in the shirt they wear.
I support LFC as a club not individual players .
I don't really think changing the manager would solve anything, as its the players that I think are mainly at fault, but then that makes me think 'Should we blame Kenny/Comolli because they brought them in?'
I'd be willing to give them this summer to see if they can bring in some players that will change our team. If we start next season the way we're ending this one then I think it's clear that something isn't working.
I agreed that finding a replacement with quality is difficult. But if we really can find one now, I think we should change the manager now. Anyway, our league season is screwed and we will not get the top-4 finish even if we win the rest of our last few games, changing the manager now will give the new manager a better view on all the players currently in the squad while still playing competitive football till end of the season. The new manager will then have a better ideas who to keep or discard in the summer. To the players, they will also want to impress the new manager as soon as he steps on board in order to win a first 11 places. Every player starts afresh to the new manager, be them Maxi, Henderson and Adam, all have to work equally hard to earn their spurs, no player will be given special "care" by the new manager.
I think Dalglish should leave at season end. I have been supporting LFC for 25 years. No matter how many matches you have to play in a months, LFC can not afford to experience 5 league losses in 6 matches. We could not said that we are improving. We have lost 10 league matches already and the number will be bigger in the last 8 matches for sure. I want to support the manager but this is too much to bear.
The owner should find the new manager ASAP so he will have time to buy the players he needs.
Sunderland were awful this season until O'Neill took over...now they are battling for a Europa League place.
We also changed manager by replacing Roy with Kenny which gave us a lift and saw us turn our season around.
Sometimes replacing a manager at the right time can be the difference between long term success or failure.
Should we support a manager (kenny or not) that doesn't see Top 4 as much of a priority. He's implied a few times that he's taking cups seriously more than he implies anything about the Top 4. He doesn't push it much that's for sure. Maybe he doesn't like to put pressure on himself which can work I guess.
Personally he's a very negative manager, worse than Roy Hodgson. We need a Shankly to turn this club around.
Totally agree!!
But with Roy it was clear that it wasn't just the players. The tactics were poor, some of the things he said was against what the supporters believe, there was a lot wrong. Under Kenny, we have played some brilliant football, and had we taken more chances throughout the season we might still be in contention for 4th place.
I can understand people wanting a change, but I think it's worth seeing if the management can turn things around over the summer.
Rafa what Barry 1st, then he what keane 2nd, but as he was not allowed to buy Barry he was forced into buying keane which he was not happy about,
People defending Dalglish signings based on net spending we should also based on net spending for Benítez which roughly comes to 60 million, which works out roughly 12 million each year,
for that money
Benítez best 11
----------------------------------------Reina-------------
Arbeloa----------------------Škrtel----------Agger-----------------Aurélio------
-------------------------------Alonso---------Javier---------
Garcia-------------------------------Aquilani-------------------------Yossi-----
----------------------------------------Torres------------
with the players Dalglish bought only Suárez could get in that team
Benítez 2nd best 11
-----------------------------------------Carson--------------
Glen----------------------------Ayala----------San José-----------------Insúa-----
---------------------------------Lucas----------Sissoko-----
Babel------------------------------------Maxi------------------------------Leto----
-------------------------------------------Kuyt----------
only Enrique,Coates & maybe Doni could get 2nd team
Only the club can know if he is the right man to take us forward. The club knows which segments he controls and how well he does it. There could have been problems going on, which we don't know about, and out of Kenny's reach.
I'd just like to make two points:
1. If the club has a feeling that Kenny can't offer significantly more going into the next season then they should look elsewhere. It would cost a lot of money again to sign players in the summer that fit Kenny's blueprint if nobody really believes in that blueprint. The fans can't make that decision as we don't know the ins and outs. But the club can't keep or sack managers based on who they are. It's all about the results and maximizing your spending.
2. If he stays there is a good chance that things will get better next season. Frankly they can't get worse. If we throw money at it, and we will, one can assume that things will improve even if we sign more duds. Sign 5 players and even if you get only one of them right you will improve. The question is how much can we improve if wrong decisions are being made?
All of this applies to Comolli and people working around him as well. So far they have come up with nothing. They signed incompetent players playing under their noses for overinflated fees. They failed to unearth any relatively unknown gems. And they've not been good at spotting bargains. At least not in the amount that we need. The bottom line is we've spent a lot of money on new players and flat out bought the wrong ones. Comolli and his team need to take responsibility.
my two cents, kenny shld be give another season. we were playing attractive football prior to winning the cup. sadly, the team lost its direction since then. i'm not sure what went wrong, but only the players themselves can come out and attest to what they have on thier minds.
changing managers is not going to help either, as unless you can come up with a list of talented managers that will come to lfc now, i would love to see it. out goes the mourinhos and guardiolas.
its useless to compare managers, as we moaned when hodgson adopted the "boring" style of punting up balls. kenny has managed to implement a new adventurous style, albeit lately reina seems to have lost a bit of focus, as well as i think its clear that carra is not working well with skrtel either.
do not be pressured into gloating/boasting results/lourding over others, this team is in its rebuilding. time is not on kenny's side, but i seriously can't think of anyone else i would love to have at the club helm right now.

Premier League prize money up to £800k per place but Manchester United and Chelsea dwarf the rest with £50m cash jackpot
Premier League clubs will earn more than £800,000 for each place they finish higher in the final table on Sunday with Manchester United and Chelsea chasing the top prize of £16million.
The merit payment has risen more than 5 per cent from the £761,000 per place last year to £800,424 this season. That is the sum that will be received by bottom club Portsmouth rising up the table to the champions who will earn just over £16m.
This is the last season of the current television contract, but the deal has been slightly backloaded to give the 20 clubs a bumper payday.
As well as the merit money, other payments to clubs have also risen by around 5 per cent.
The equal share paid to each club will be £14.6m compared to £13.9m last season; while the facility fees for appearing live on TV rises from £480,000 per team per match to £499,734 - and every team is guaranteed at least 10 facility fees.
On top of that every club will earn £10.1m from overseas television rights plus another £2m from sponsorship and licensing deals.
The result is that the top two clubs can both expect to comfortably top £50m in their income Premier League cash - and that is not counting gate receipts, merchandise sales or other matchday takings.

The Premier League’s financial structure ensures a quarter of its revenue from television and licensing agreements is awarded to teams based on their final position in the table.
In 2010-11, the overall £1.2bn pot saw bottom club West Ham United walk away with little more than £750,000 – with every additional Premier League place worth the same again.
It meant Wolves, who scraped to safety in 17th, took in about £3m as part of their £40.6m top-flight cheque.
And Fulham – who secured eighth, Norwich’s current top-flight position – picked up a merit payment of more than £9.8m to take their total close to the £50m mark.
Even Sunderland’s top-10 finish brought in £8.3m – £5m more than Wolves, and the equivalent of Norwich City’s reported outlay during the last January transfer window.
The Premier League will not yet reveal the money available for the 2011-12 season, although with the share from international broadcast rights set to increase on last season they expect merit payments to do likewise. Of last season’s £1.2bn Premier League pot, half was shared equally between all top-flight clubs. The final quarter is given out in “facility fees” depending on the number of games broadcast live involving each club.
All 20 sides are guaranteed a minimum fee – which last season was £5.8m – for 10 live games, with clubs receiving a greater share the more they are on the television.
To think people were tellng me that anti Kenny posters didnt exist and i almost belived them.
Reading through this thread is a disgrace. Even the Mancs have more respect for Kenny than some of our own.
All of you ******* leeches can burn in hell.
You dont deserve to bask in potential glory.
I'm sure that behind the scenes, the owners are looking at all options, considering we're talking about a club legend here, it's going to have to be carefully thought out.
If we lose our next game the owners will be under the proverbial magnifying lens. If they stay silent then that will be seen as them not publicly backing the manager in a time of "crisis".
If they back Kenny publicly, the fans will want to see more investment.
Hopefully we'll win though.
5) Continue to back Dalglish telling him that he has a 3 year contract and his performance will be reviewed at the end of the season. Thus, giving him the opportunity to finish the season on a high. In terms of a £100m war chest That is out of the question. The £100m already spent on players has to show a return. However, some funds will be made available to strengthen. This does depend on an upturn in results over the last 8 PL matches.
