Its harder than it looks!
Cant believe I missed off Falcao and Modric though.
Reading through, I find it hard to believe that people are putting players like Gerrard Buffon and Sneijder given that the OP said to base it on recent form
World XI:
-----------------------------Iker Casillas-------------------------------
Dani Alves----Sergio Ramos---Vincent Kompany---Phillip Lahm
------------------------------Yaya Toure---------------------------------
---------------------Xavi--------------------Iniesta---------------------
Robben-------------------------Messi-------------------------Ronaldo
PL Only:
------------------------------Hart---------------------------------
Richards--------Kompany-------Agger-----------Ashley Cole
-----------------------------Lucas-----------------------------------
------------------Yaya Toure------Modric------------------------
-------------------------------Silva----------------------------------
------------------Kun Aguero-----Van Persie-------------------
Al Habsi (Oman)
Vidic (Serbia) Kompany (Belgium) Thiago Silva (Brazil)
Valencia (Ecuador) Iniesta (Spain) Ozil (Germany) Wilshere (England) Robben (Netherlands)
Messi (Argentina) Ronaldo (Portugal)
My eleven, thinking back I may have read 4-4-2 but oh well.
Beautiful football in the middle, up top, no explanations needed, strong center backs with pace and aerial ability.
Wingers who really are out and out.
Apologies...re-read the initial post and here is my update...
World XI:
-------------------------------Joe Hart-------------------------------
Dani Alves------------Vidic---Vincent Kompany---Phillip Lahm
------------------------------Yaya Toure---------------------------------
---------------------Modric--------------------Iniesta---------------------
Robben-------------------------Messi-------------------------Ronaldo
------------------------------Hart--------------------------
Alves------------Pique-----------T.Silva-----------Marcelo
---------------------------Lucas---------------------------------
--------------------Xavi-------------Fabregas----------------
--------------------------Pastore-------------------------------
-------------------Messi------------Ronaldo----------------
I think that some players like Kagawa, Valencia, Falcao, Martinez and Reus could creep into this list considering their form over the last few months. Left-field choices surely, but each of them have been absolutely instrumental in teams doing well in their leagues.
Cech - Chelsea
Lahm - Germany
Kompany - Belguim
Thiago Silva - Brazil
A.Cole - England
Yaya Toure - Ivory Coast
De Jong - Holland
Xavi - Barcelona
Messi - Argentina
Falcao - Colombia
Ronaldo - Portugal
Probably the best I can put together quickly. De Jong and Cech only makin it because they are quality players not necessarily form. The rest are based on a mixture of form and quality.
GK - Brad Jones (Australia)
DR - Glen Johnson (England)
DL - Jose Enrique (Spain)
DC - Daniel Agger (Denmark)
DC - Martin Skrtel (Slovakia)
DM - Lucas Leiva (Brazil)
CM - Charlie Adam (Scotland)
CM - Alberto Aquilani (Italy)
LW - Craig Bellamy (Wales)
RW - Dirk Kuyt (Holland)
ST - Luis Suarez (Uruguay)
S1 - Peter Gulacsi (Hungary)
S2 - Stephen Sama (Germany)
S3 - Kristjan Gauti Emilsson (Sweden)
S4 - Yalany Baio (Guinea-Bissau )
S5 - Maxi Rodriguez (Argentina)
S6 - Marc Pelosi (USA)
S7 - Joao Carlos Teixeira (Portugal)
If the match took place on a cold, rainy Wednesday night at the Britannia Stadium, this team would take some beating (assuming Lionel Messi was in the opposition team, obviously).
Lloris (France)
Dani alves (brazil)
Skrtel (Slovakia)
Agger (Denmark)
Baines (England) sorry!
Schweinsteiger (Germany)
Xavi (Spain)
De Rossi (Italy)
Messi (Argentina)
Ronaldo (portugal)
Suarez (Uruguay)
With Joachim low as managerwould be deadly! Was hard to leave Lucas out but couldn't think of a better rb than alves!
