Worth going into Miami briefly, but it's not great!

Be wary that if you set aside a day to drive from (for example) Orlando to the Keys, it will take you an *entire* day to get there - Florida is very big!

Cheers just been looking at it on Google maps, 1 hour 21min form where we are staying, looks like the closest beach so will probably spend a beach day up there.

    Nice idea, thanks.

You're welcome I really loved it there, it's on my list of places to go back to at some point!

    Not a clue.

I wanted to go there but we didn't have the time.

If you could please pop in and let me know what it's like, I might go if ever I'm in Florida again.

Seriously... I'd probably only go there if there's something happening, i.e. some sort of motorsports.

Kennedy Space Centre is really worth it, by the way. If you're there in the next few weeks, there may be a chance to see one of the shuttles parked up - I think Discovery is currently in the vehicle assembly building, which is now part of the 'Up Close' tour, the first time in 30 years that the VAB has been accessible to the public (so their website says). The VAB is also the world's largest single-storey building, so it's probably pretty impressive from inside.

We are not planning on doing Kennedy, it was the one thing that fell of the list of "to do's". But if there is time, it will be added again.

I've only ever driven past it and it looked pretty huge. Would agree on the Space Centre tho, that was really really interesting.

I can't wait for the summer holiday! Had a very awesome weekend and the summer holiday is even better as it's not only a weekend, it's more than two months.

Went to Orlando Florida in 2005 did it all Disney, Universal, Bussh Gardens, Wet and Wild was a laugh but my favorite was Sea World went back their few times.

We were on international drive so easy access for every thing.

Beautiful weather day in day out plenty of crazy golf played and we ate very well as you do when in the good old USA

Love to go back and do it all again with the nephews next time.

This is why we chose April. it is the only month of the year where they have practically no rainfall at all.

Very true, I remember having a thunderstorm that rained about 2 inches in 1 hour than the place was completely dry and no clouds in site later in the day. Though Georgia weather compared to Florida is a little different.

And it's not so ungodly hot in April that you can't move.

Please, Florida is never that bad due to the ocean. Now if you come to the deep south then you will understand agonizing weather. To think I use to play 2 different sports during the summer is mind blowing. I do not even try to go outside much anymore, just not worth it.

Me and the missus booked to go to International Drive in Florida, but she's in uni and can't afford to contribute any more towards it so we've changed our holiday and now we are going to Naama Bay, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt instead. Anyone been there and know how far the pyramids and stuff are away?

Pretty sure Sharm El Sheikh is on the other side of the country, hundreds of miles away from the pyramids.

Had a weeks holiday in La Palma last month, loved it, very relaxing and a beautiful island and only a half-hour flight from here. We may go to Argentina/Brazil in Aug/Sept to visit her family but that depends on other plans we're working on at the moment.

As for Florida, I went there as a kid and did the whole Disney, Sea world and wet n wild thing, brilliant, well what I remember was. I do remember playing heaps of crazy golf as well.
