Apologies for starting another thread on yesterdays game, but I've noticed this is a recurring topic.

    Simple Answer Dive or Slip?

Please don't turn this into a debate about Carroll or Kenny.

For me he dived if it was a slip it was one of the most unnatural slips in football.

I think he lost his footing, he just panicked a bit. He did all the right stuff but failed at the final finish.

Kinda sums us up this season. SSSIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHHHH

You can see he catches his toe before he goes over, so a trip for me, but because he went down like a sack of spuds it's easy to see why the ref thought it was a dive. But the lad didn't even appeal for a penalty, yet gets a card, so unfair.

maybe once he was down he thought he'd make the most of it, but he didn't dive deliberately.

It was a dive, simple as. Doesn't take a genius to work it out.

I think that ignores the crucial fact that he has always had zero balance and is generally quite clumsy.

He dived, the ref was right to book him, he should have stayed on his feet and made himself a hero instead of an embarrassment.

Dive. No confidence in front of goal so he took the easy way out.

Dive. Blatent. He wasnt off balace if you watch it properly in slow motion. He drags his foot to feign getting caught by the keeper.

And kenny knows it. If anyone believes that kenny thinks he fell they are deluded b

He tripped, so how could he stay on his feet? Even Kenny says so. If he can say Reina deserved the red then he can say Carroll deserved a booking, but he doesn't, because he knows the truth.

I should think Andy was embarrassed at tripping and thought he'd make the most of it, but it backfired horribly. But he didn't dive. He's always falling over.

Sort of begs the question that if he was booked for cheating then Perch should have been booked for cheating also ( getting Reina sent off) I appreciate that the intent was there but surely the FA have to have a look at that.

Sorry... Dive/trip . I think he could have maybe stumbled a little further but as he wnet down as if he has been shot made it very unconvincing.

Dive. Carroll goes down far to easily. If they aren't dives, then he seriously needs to go the the gym.

He needs to learn to run into the goalkeeper first and then dive.

For me it was Andy falling over as usual, you know this, we all know this, Andy falls over all the time, with the ball, without the ball, under challenge, or with no-one near him, and we all know that when he falls over it is almost always unexpected, as in he doesn't look to be loosing his balance or off balance, his standing foot goes and he ends up on his arse.

it was a dive...and it think its so wrong that instead of putting us up 1-0, he decided to get one over the fans booing him and get a penalty and the GK sent off. A goal would have silenced him. I hope that by KD hauling him off, and him hearing 55000 boring him that it will give him the kick of the arse he needs.

On me slow-mo it looked like he rolled his foot over the ball & stumbled over like six feet of hairy newborn giraffe. If it were a dive I dunno that I'd feel any better though.

It was a clear dive. Maybe he lost his balance a bit, but he could have easily stayed on his feet if he wanted to. He should have just stayed up and put the ball in the net, but it seems he bottled it and therefore made the pathetic attempt to get a penalty (and Krul sent off, so it was just as bad as Perch's play-acting).

You forgot to add the option that he bottled it.

It was a dive and the reason why he dived was because he bottled the chance and choked infront of his beloved Geordies.

At first i thought he dived thinking krul would make contact.

But having watched the slow mo a few times you see just as he goes to round Krul he over runs the ball and falls due to trying to get the ball from under his feet.

Krul never made contact with him at all. I believe, unfortunately he lost somehow his balance.
Maybe he was too excited way before because he believed he would score. Honestly he did everything perfect to that point.
From the header, the control, passed the defender, then passed the keeper and then .............
    Very Unfortunate

pretty blatant dive, he is completely befuddled and is constantly looking for any and all excuses as to why he's terrible. he either learned to walk 3 days ago, or was setting himself to tumble over hoping for the freebie since he figured his odds of an open net from that distance was at best 30/70
