Judging by Rodgers recent transfer history he is no mug. The only poor signing he has made for Swansea was Leroy Lita, who has mainly flopped because of his drunken antics and the great form of Danny Graham (also signed by Rodgers). He even got Wayne Routledge playing well as well.

The question is could Kenny or Rafa or anyone else really done any better at Swansea than Rodgers? I don't think so

The question is: Can Brendan Rodgers adapt to being manager of Liverpool rather than Swansea? Time will tell.

Get Aquilani back, that's basically a new signing. No ****** bender and Jarvis, what's the world coming too?

Moses, dos santos, Defoe, diame, siguardsson and a cover for left back... Not too much to ask is it?

Ivan Perisic looked very good for Croatia and Dzagoev for Russia.

Unless the manager can dramatically transform our entire current squad perform at top level, a poacher, a winger/attacker and an attacking midfielder is required. Don't see much reason for spending a limited transfer budget (?) on our defense (which was top notch last season) and and defensive midfield.

Imo scoring goals is what it's all about. But I haven't seen us linked with anyone lately that could help in that department (except maybe Daniel Sturridge). And this worries me quite a bit.

On a side note, actually regardless of Luis and Seb already playing for us, I have a good feel for Uruguayans. They have a great group at the moment, and seem to be on a roll. And I'd love to see a few of them signing up with LFC. But unfortunately, both Ramires and Cavani seem to be going elsewhere...

Look out for Wolski of Poland and Andriy Yarmolenko of Ukraine. Top young talents.

Btw, isn't it time for us to start closing some deals soon, at least for those targets not involved with the Euro? I need to see some action...

Most of the time the business is done after the summer tournament, which is frustrating. Clubs selling will want to see about replacements before selling, etc.

The advanced playmaker will likely be Sigurdsson if he can do it consistently and there's no reason why he shouldn't, he's a real talent. Or we could see Henderson there, it's where he's at his best, passing through-balls behind the defense, making runs into the box. He would really suit Rodgers high pressing game.

Assuming we get Sigurdsson, ideally we need a striker who can also play out wide, someone who can run the channels... a younger Bellamy?
Sahin is not a destroyer, he's a deep-lying playmaker who would deeply compliment Lucas and allow Gerrard to roam alot more. Since when has a team been about have only 2 good players per position? Henderson can now be eased in a lot more, Adam for me isn't good enough and neither is Spearing. Furthermore Stevie G isn't exactly the most fit player nowadays he's prone to the odd lay off for a while.

    Sahin is perfect.

Difference is Dazgoev has been immense for the past 3 years now. WOnderful talent he's no Gyan Diouf or Arshavin. Not just getting plaudits cause of Euro's he's been class for a while now, he's just getting more media exposure.

We might as well forget about any big named signings because nobody will want to a club that just finished 8th and we probably won't have much money as we're letting players go for peanuts.

People are living in a fantasy world if they think we are going in for £20m+ players this summer.

Whilst I agree with you, it is yet to be seen if there are any outgoings and who they will be. This will clearly affect our budget.

Crazy as it sounds, its crazy that 20m isn't a massive amount to spend in football, these crazy days,.

If its the Aquilani's, Maxi's and Cole's to leave then our budget will be almost non existant.

If we start selling players that command fees of £15m+ to allow us to spend similar amounts on new players, that's not good. Not good at all.

I'm expecting bargain bin dipping and I did the minute they appointed Rodgers.

Must be quite hard to know who he doesn't want in the squad when most of it has broken up for internationals

Why does Rodgers being our manager dictate what we have to spend?

I don't care if they purchase some unknown from outer mongolia for the price of a bag revels....as long as said player improves the team.

    Because that's his forte.

He got results on a small budget (as did Martinez). If they aren't full of ****, there is a reason he was their number one choice.

Both managers we were strong for are bargain bin dippers. Strange.

I was implying your second suggestion.

Why is that bad? I don't want an overhaul at all, but 2 or 3 could go easily without upsetting a settled squad, if that's what you eluded to.
