Yes its all doom and gloom, now and yes many of us are right to be questioning players, Managers etc. But i still believe we are not that far away and by away i mean a title challenge not just top 4

IMO Agger was a huge positive yesterday, although many will disagree but id say Lucasand agger are noe are most important players. Agger Keeps the defensive line high, while Lucas is the key to allow are attacking players the freedom to play.

People outside of LFC will still class us as a 2 man team (Gerrard & Suarez) but we are much more than that and we still have the basis of a good team but its imperative we get quality this summer goes thats all that will improve us now.

    Reina

    Johnson
    Skrtel
    Agger
    Enrique

    Lucas

    Gerrard
    Suarez

IMO thats the basis of a very good team, and IMO that team would need a CM to partner Lucas, Attacking LM and a striker of quality would improve us drastically. To go with that we would still have an extremly strong Bench.

I think mentally the club need to improve and need to adopt a winning mentality.

Its imperative though that the signings this summer are quality because if they are like last summers we will have the same problems

Lucas and Agger are definite starters once fit, we've certainly missed them although we'd both agree that maybe we'd be in the chasing pack rather than 10 points off. That we've not got adaquate backups for both isn't much of a surprise as other parts of the team needed strengthening.
2 or 3 quality attacking signings will take the club forward but maybe to challenging for third, lets not forget everyone else will be recruiting. The title challenge requires strength in depth in total, which (in the long term plan) will take longer. Of course, if even 2 of our youth players came good it would help us along our path even quicker

if Those positions we're filled with Quality I'd be happy but the issue is then replacemeants for Injuries thats done us in this season almost as much as bad finishing.

3 key signings and we could make top 4 next season, not be guaranteed, but could make it.

I concur, possibly 3 but 4 should help us catch up, problem is that will cost a hell of a lot, we need really top quality players , not just squad players, and the amount who we can attract is limited by lack of cl football IMHO, some will still come but most won't

3 good signings could take us a long, long way.

But after last summer I have my doubts about our ability to identify the right players, and whether such players would come to us anymore.

We'd still need luck with injuries after that anyway. Still can't believe RVP and Torres have gone all season without injuries.

Depends on who those three are, really. We need them for top 4, in my opinion, we're much further away from a title challenge.

I could happily cope with just an out and out right winger and a striker. I realise people are now assuming Gerrard can play right wing but I still want an out and out winger. Left wing is fine for now with Bellamy and Downing but we haven't had a right winger since **** knows when. Actually if our budget is crap I could live with getting Hoilett and just throwing everything we got at one big clinical finisher.

Right winger, striker, cover for Lucas. I also believe we should cut our losses and take what we can get for Carroll (just wrong player for the wrong team is all, it happens) and Adam (never good enough).

Lucas and Agger are massive players for us, two of our biggest issues have been 1. Not having quality replacements for these 2 and 2. Not having an out and out goalscorer.

1 from each of these categorys and i think we will wont be far off
(Also im being realistic with the players we could attract)

CM: Granero, Lassana Diarra, Fernando, Witsel,Dembele, Strootman,Moutinho. Most of these would be in the 8-15m range

LM: Marin, Lucas Moura, Douglas Costa, Mertens, Schlurrie, Munian, Tello. Yet ago most of these will cost in the range of 8-15m apart from Lucas and Munian

Striker: Huntelaar, Van Wolfswinkel, De Jong, Bent, Doumbia, Rossi. Most of these would cost under 20m.

If you asked me to pick 3, idsay Lucas Moura, Lassana Diarra and Doumbia

Douglas costa, Marin, or Tello for less than 15m? That would be some serious negotiation, evidently something DC cannot do lol. Lucas Moura and Munian would be amazing acquisitions, especially Munian as Moura is bit of an unknown entity in terms of will he survive in a competitive league. I would bite the hand off someone to bring Douglas Costa in for so little.

I think all those prices though will be much higher, we will be taking for a ride again but at as long we secure some quality signings its all good

It is equally imperative that where the gaps exist in the team that prevents it from playing the way Kenny wants them to play, that those gaps are filled by players proficient in that role and that we don't buy players because they look good in one team but won't work in ours.

If we had to restrict our signings to just 3, I'd want a striker, a wide player, and DM
But I'd also like us to further improve CM, selling Adam, and buying a quality holding midfielder

If we were to get these ^^ positions right, we'd be right up there next season, competing for the CL positions, and will be on our way to creating the foundations for a title challenge (our ultimate goal!) in the next few years

For me, I know a lot of high-profile top players won't come
But that doesn't not mean we cannot buy quality

There are so many young hidden gems out there - we just need to find them!
Plus, if they lower-profile, they'll cost lesser

And we can still go for other players from a high level - Strootman, Ramirez, De Jong... ect

Damien and Kenny will be forced to think harder and smarter than they did last year
They're judgement on players have to be spot on!

We seriously need to go for the "right" players, instead of going all gung-ho with the cash

    And a back-up DM
    We NEED a back-up DM!!!

Since Lucas' injury our away form has gone down the pan - we've lost most of the away games since then!
Fulham, City, Utd, Bolton, Sunderland, QPR, Newcastle ect... including draws. I think the only game we've won is Wolves!

Our home form has been average, but if we had sustained even a half-decent away form, we'd still be in the fight for top4. That's how poor our away form has been since Lucas' injury.

The reason for it is, we've severely lacked that steel in the midfield when going away from home
We can't just be dependent on Lucas next season as well... especially after suffering such a horrific injury!!

Even though its blatenly obvious we need a goalscorer IMO its just as important to get the centre of midfield sorted.

A creative defensive midfielder to play alongside Lucas next year IMO will help us control lesser teams at Anfield, because even though at times its the missed chances thats cost us at home, IMHO we havent controlled teams at home and are often to easy to play against.

Think Lassana Diarra would be an incredible signing and him alongside Lucas would enable are front 4 players next year and are 2 full backs the chance to reak havoc on aposing teams

Given that the top six will invest and improve over the summer, I'd say we need another five to seven top quality signings to break into the top four next season.

I think if the owners aren't willing to put approximately £150,000,000 - £200,000,000 on the table for new signings, we need to bring in a manager that is capable of getting results on a tighter budget.

At the start of this season we could have given any team a game we played well up until that united thing.....
The sooner this season ends the better and if we pick up the f a cup on the way then at least we will end it with knowing we are at the least a good cup team.we will be stronger next season with a couple of sighnings,Confidance is key.
