I used to live on the same street as Colin Jackson. It's funny cos I never saw him hurdling in the street. He just used To stand around chatting all day.

You'll have to be more specific. That starred out word could be one of many things; depends which one it is.

Remove the jumps and turn it into a flat race, it would still be a race of endurance over such a long distance.

I'd settle for that. I don't know the numbers of deaths suffered in flat racing vs jump racing but it must be significantly less.

It's around 20 times higher over the jumps so, yes, a significant reduction

to muscular you wouldn't like that meat. What gets me, is the horses don't die when they are in training, so it is just the racing and to many horses in the same race. Also some guys said up the page the massive difference in in the jumping races over the non jumping races. Why can't they just race then, and if you want to watch them jump then watch the show jumping

This year's race was terrible. I can no longer watch that in the name of sport....never mind bet on it. Watching Synchronised being 'introduced' to the fences before the race was awful...he was backing up with his ears pinned back, terrified. Love a bet and enjoy racing but can't support that anymore.

If a horse doesn't want to jump a fence it won't. It's as simple as that.

If you're having a flutter on the Scottish Grand National then being a Liverpool fan it would be rude not to throw a few quid on WalkOn

Happened in the cross country race at Cheltenham earlier this year. Even happens in flat races occasionally.

I think it's clear that the only real answer is to wipe them from the face of the earth. That way, they will never ever suffer again.
