How much did their keeper have to do yesterday? Not much really. The ball bouncing randomly off red players' knees is not bad luck.

We've been very unlucky at times, but for the most part it's just been down to ****-poor finishing. However, we have played very well in the majority of games this season and have created innumerate chances, something that bodes well for the future providing we start to get it right in front of goal.

I strongly believe if you planted the correct seeds before the season began and you have a good farmer to look after the young plants growing up during the earlier part of the season, you will reap the good harvest when the season is about to fold. The thing for us are, we bought all the wrong players with our limited funds available during the pre-season and we have a mangaer who constantly field his "preferred" players and overlooking some better ones during the season, of course we are reaping our just "harvest" with a mid-table showing now. You just don't blame all the wasted chances to bad luck when it happened most of the games throughoutrhe season. We should finish off most of these games with more potent finishings and better game plans, even after we had hit the woodworks once or twice. We bought a striker who we all now know is just plain clumpsy and can't score with 2 or 3 chances, we bought a specialised left winger and field him as a right winger for most of the season, we bought a centre midfielder and the manager keep on demolishing his little confidences by playing him on the right flank where he can't even beat a fullback for pace and technique, we bought a deadball specialist who happen to be our manager own countryman that we all know by now that he can't take corners or even penalty to save his own life.

Im not calling for Kenny's head or anything but please stop saying its a matter of luck. Was it luck that got us to 2nd in 2009 or was it the fact that our team played flawlessly? What I saw today was a stagnant midfield and a attacking pairing which just doesnt click. Please look at some of the top 5 clubs and how most of their goals come. Fact is that when you have a chance you need someone to follow up if it doesnt make it, whether its a striker or midfielder. I feel sorry for Suarez because whenever he makes a run into the box he has Henderson, Carrol, and Kuyt just staring at him outside the box. Remember a fellow called Raul Mereiles?? How many times did he make runs into the box?? The Chelsea game last year is the biggest example. Anyways, thats my opinion on our season as a whole. The system we play in is just not working. When you play for a top four finish you need players who want to make a diffrence. I only saw two or three out there......
    Shockingly accurate

It is the showcasing of the poor buys that has killed us this season.

Provided we have another striker other than Carroll to partner Suarez. Suarez for all his endeavour, deserved better striker partner.

Well were the only set of fans who feel that we aint been unlucky.

When I speak to Gooners, Spuds, Chavs etc they feel LFC have been very unlucky and generally cant believe how we miss so often.

There's no rhyme or reason for our league form, we've had no problem putting our chances away in the cup, it just destined to be this way this season, I think we have been unlucky in the league all season, we've had all our luck in the cups, not much at that, but a bit of the rub of the green, officials getting big decisions right, in our league campaign we have had no luck whatsoever, I can't remember a single league game where we have had the rub of the green, we've had so many game changing decisions incorrectly given against us on a consistent basis in the league campaign it is completely unreal.

Officials getting big decisions right Just noticed that, it sums up a lot of it for me, because I genuinely did type that as considering us to have had a bit of luck as the norm is they get those decisions wrong consistently and not in our favour, it's evidently got to ridiculous proportions if I think we've been lucky in the cups because they got the decisions right

Exactly right Scrams. It's amazing the number of our fans that fail to appreciate this fact, only to start shouting 'it's my opinion!' when it's pointed out to them.

As I've said before, Kenny is going to prove a lot of posters in here very wrong next season. I'm looking forward to seeing how vocal they are then.

We have been unlucky...... the same as every other club........ we've also been lucky at times....... the same as every other club........

We're the only club that seems to rely completely on luck....... we never deserve to lose....... we're unlucky......... we never fail to score because our forwrds miss sitters....... we're unlucky........ we dont get the pens we think we should....... because we're unlucky......... we've slapped 50% of the pens we have been awarded into the crowd........ because we're unlucky.......

You can see where I'm going......... only so much is luck!

We are creating enough chances we are lacking composure and decision making. Whether that will come in time I don't know, Gooner mate of mine told me that v Persie hit the woodwork more than any player last year, this year they are hitting the net ....

    No its not bad luck

5-10 times a year........not getting rub of the green
10-20...........ok thats bordering bad luck / wondering about strikers
closing in on 40 times.............its poor finishing, simple as that. Nothing to do with bad luck

Yesterday we were a mixture of profligate and unlucky. First half profligacy with Kuyt, Suarez striking too close to Foster, Maxi firing the rebound badly over, Carroll tamely heading wide and Agger making a bit of a hash of a great chance...

But the second half for instance - on 4 occasions I can count bad luck...

Firstly - the incident where Suarez gets the ball crosses/shoots - Foster palms it away - Carroll misses his kick (loses footing) - Spearing's shot is cleared OFF THE LINE and then their guy makes a complete hash of a defensive clearance, but it doesn't fall to any of our players.

Secondly - Enrique powerfully crosses the ball (or is it a shot?) - Foster spills it. It doesn't fall to one of our players and it doesn't squirm into the net, instead Foster can pick the ball back up.

Thirdly - a shot from the left, right-footed (can't remember who took it) is palmed out by Foster - Carroll hits the rebound goalbound but it hits either Suarez or their player's arm (albeit probably not handball).

And the fourth... Henderson's delightful curling shot - comes back down off the bar - goes in? No. Where does it go? It hits Foster... goes in? No, of course not. It goes to safety.

The solution to me is obvious - someone somewhere up in the Gods really doesn't want Liverpool F.C. to do well in the league

Which part was OTT?.... I may have layed it on abit thick so to speak, mainly because I'm still royally ********** at losing to ****** West Brom at HOME!..... I swallowed the "unlucky" excuse once to ******* often this season

After "allmost" every defeat or poor result I'v heard the "with just a wee bit more luck" line rolled out.

Luck plays a part....... but its not the deciding factor EVERY time.

We've got the best injury record of any club this season (according to the recently fired DR.Brukner)......... is that good/bad luck or something else?

We've an awfull record from the pen spot this season........ good/bad luck or something else?

We've hit the woodwork more times that anyone else....... good/bad luck or something else?

Our chance conversion rate is half that of our rivals for top4....... good/bad luck or something else?

We've got a very good defensive record....... good/bad luck or something else?
