In Australia, Brisbane Roar clinched a dramatic second successive A-League title at the expense of Perth Glory thanks to what has been described as one of the worst penalty decisions ever made.

I think the decision looks worse than it is. There must have been a lot of bodies blocking the refs sight and the guy in purple comes sliding in dangerously. It was a wrong decision, but understandable why he got it wrong, in my opinion.

The solution to things like these is simple: bring in technology to assist the refs. Until then, we are always going to see things like this.

There will be some big mistakes in the Euros this summer and it will always be like that until refs are helped by technology.

When I was a kid I used to demand 'Ref Cam'. A camera strapped to the ref's forehead so we could see what he saw/didn't see.

The decision is shocking but the reaction of Barisha is disgraceful.

    I like it.

Imagine what we'd see if Mr Webb wore one at Old Trafford. Especially in Slur's office before and after the game

Any way you look at it he was too quick to give it.

He should have looked at his assistant and consulted. There was no contact what so ever plus it was over the 4 minutes added on time.

Very poor decision which cost Perth the title (not that I care about Perth or anything like that.)

Bad decision, but you see these week in week out. It still has absolutely nothing on allowing a goal to be scored by a beach ball.

Turns out his girlfriend works for Brisbane as well... A few conspiracy theories flying about now in the press!

    Absolutely 100% this.

Sure it's a poor decision but the player should be ashamed of himself. He probably doesn't give two ***** but his celebrating is a disgrace.

That stadium is huge but the players still had to sit on plastic chairs

as being from perth myself, (though i live in london now) that really hurts to watch, and the celebration for the penalty decision was a disgrace.

i can see why the ref gave it.

btw. how awful was that penalty. if the goalie had waited for a third of a second more it was an easy save. cnt rlly blame him though.

How embarrassing is it when people celebrate when they win a penalty?

As a fellow Perth Glorian, I was devastated with that decision. We certainly didn't deserve it. We held our steel and played so well against the Barcelona of the A-league. Barisha was a bit of a plonker in his interview, claiming it was a clear cut penalty when prior to that he walked over to our captain and said "that wasn't a penalty at all mate". Perth Glory owner also made a bit of a statement questioning the selection of the referee. He criticised the selection panel for choosing a ref who was dating a Brisbane Roar employee; a bit of a conflict of interests.

Hint of offside leading up to that goal?
