Agreed. Useful player if he wanted to be around. He never settled in England though so can just see him being loaned out again or sold.

    Shame.

I seriously find it ridiculous that why are we even concern what if Aquilani doesn't want to come back??? He is our player and until Milan activates the clause to buy over him, Aquilani is still a Liverpool player. Together with Gerrard, he is our best centre midfielder in our book. I cannot understand why some of the fans telling the world to have us to buy this player and that player, who in the first place, have absolutely no interest to join us. Yet, we have one hell of an attacking midfielder in Aquilani and we all seem so eager sell him to buy other uninterested players.

If he is up for the challenge, then why not. Him next to Lucas with Gerard out right would improve the team. Would potentially save a lot of money meaning we can focus on Attack rather than CM (Despite a previous thread I started!)

Next season we have a really tough schedule compared to this year with the Europa League campaign (provided we get through the qualifiers) With a paper thin squad and a limited budget we are going to need more than just supplementing by bringing in a rake of 19,20 and 21 year olds. At 28 in July and contracted to us until 2014, Aquilani is supposedly coming into his prime and will be a great additional option. The big questions are whether he will have the desire to come back, whether his family issues can be overcome and of course whether Kenny will give him a fair crack. But I would be so pleased to have him back.

I want him back for sure, 100%. But what I don't want is for him to come back for pre season, be the best player, and get loaned off somewhere. Just get rid if he's not to be.

It really isn't as simple as being one of the best CM in the squad therefore we have to keep him.

The lad clearly doesn't want to play his football in England for whatever reason. Unless he changes his mind and finds the desire, I would rather have a player who is determined to prove themselves and will give 100% every week. We have players like that already, e.g. Henderson / Spearing / Shelvey.

If Aqua is sold and finally off the wage bill, then hopefully that mony will be put towards other areas to be strengthened (Right Winger a priority for me).

His dad says he doesnt mind playing for Liverpool. He wouldnt say that if Aquilani really wanted to leave. He would talk more about clubs in Italy to push for a move - drum up interest. But he hasnt.

However if he does want to leave, then get Hernanes or Sigurdsson to replace him.

If there are no decent bids for him from Italy (or elsewhere) then we should happily take him back - it would be like getting a good CM player on a free transfer. He'd be an improvement on Adam in CM and maybe even Henderson can learn a bit from him too. I can see him forming a good partnership with Lucas & allow Stevie to move into the hole behind Suarez & Carroll.
