According to reports Fergie was watching him in the final an will cost £7mill which they'll get back on shirt sales.
If he's available at 7mill i'd throw in a higher offer to be sure to get him.

If his release clause is 7 million that means any bid for that amount has to be accepted. If we bid 100 million, United's 7 million bid would still be accepted.

^^ That being so, our only option is to throw loads of money at him.

    *if that is so.

Just because we bid higher doesn't guarantee we will get the player.

Also, it depends on the player's ambitions, CL and all that.

Exactly, let's put this to bed right now.

I doubt any player, given the choice will choose us over Manure or any Champs League team.

Personally id love to see him come here, his football ability would welcome.
Then obviously his shirt sales,i just hope our ambition is obvious and players can see where we are going.

The only thing we can do if we're really desperate is throw a 250k wage offer at him...thats what City do! We can't even do that because other players will get upset if someone is paid so much more than them! It's probably the reason we can't buy the big names everyone wants to see (e.g. Cavani)

I don't think he had many offer, as suprising as that may sound. It might've been between us and Spurs and we were more prestigious.

Yes he did, however, we were not so far behind the leaders then and had ambitions of challenging for the league and top 4 the following season.

He had a choice of Spurs and us. Given the choice of Manure and us I think he would have chose them. Same way as he probably would have chosen City, Chelsea, Real and other big teams in the CL

Maybe next year we can get a guy like this, but he will usually choose CL over EL.
Football is strange and you never know but we are probably better suited for other targets.

What are u talking about we were hopeless hence why Torres left and KK came in.

And where did this Spurs thing come from as i recall it Spurs looked at him but their scouts came back and said he was like VDV and didnt reccommend him. Nobody else wanted to touch him

Why would United buy him if they are already getting Gaitan. Lets place a bid, wouldn't hurt.

If we bid £50m and Utd bid £7m who would he go to?

I'd be surprised if the deal with Scumchester is not already tied up.

lets be honest, you'd have to be an LFC supporter to choose us over Man Utd.

You think players would turn down Barca or Real for Osasuna?

I love Kagawa, I'll be sad if he goes to United.

Dortmund aren't soft, though, they are replacing him with Reus who, in my opinion, is a better player.

If we want to go down this route, we should bid for Reus' Gladbach team-mate Patrick Hermann, before some other big club snaps him up.

He has no reason to leave Dortmund for Liverpool. Of course he will prefer Man Utd. This isn't our fight and there are better ways to be spending our transfer window.

i don't understand why he'd want to come here, at the moment we haven't got much to offer.

We don't listen, do we? The owners have laid down a policy. We buy young players that we believe we can develop into household names. We are not interested in buying players who have already made their names. So if we want to indulge ourselves in speculation we should be talking about young little-known future stars...

The owners are in no way desperate. They/we have all the time in the world... five years to compete at the very top is not intolerable we hear.

Sour face was there watching him yesterday - I think it's pretty much nailed on he will be at united next season.

Great player though he is a major upgrade of park - hard working , pacey , Skillful.

I'm not totally sure how much game time he would get at United or whether his ability is worth the price but commercially this is another big deal and if were serious about penetrating Asian markets (which Standard Chartered are obsessed with) then I hope we at least made a bid (if we even can with no management staff, regardless we would likely lose the negotiation with the player).
