I dont particularly like Tevez but have to say he is bang on here:-

    Taken from BBC website
Tevez said: "It seems like Ferguson is the president of England.

"When he speaks badly about a player, nobody says he has to apologise but when someone comes out with a joke, you have to say sorry. I don't say sorry."

Exactly. I thought Tevez was a complete bell, now I have some new found respect for him.

The club apologised on his behalf, I think.

Yeah I remember that, but I'm sure he said I played under Ferguson and respect him as a manager.

I'll go with what you said, your memory is probably better than mine

    Found it

Tevez, who left United in 2009 for City, said: "I got carried away in the excitement of the moment and I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to Sir Alex Ferguson, who I admire as a man and a manager."

Whether he has said that or not it's true.

And anyway, for that holding that sign up, he deserves a medal!

    Stop confusing me even more.

The quote I posted is pretty much an apology, without saying the actually word "I'm sorry"

Although I think Tevez is a total tool, I am going to be completely hypocritical here and say out loud "I love Tevez".

It was a statment they drew up on Tevez's behalf and put his name to it. All clubs do that, get their people to draw up a statement and claim the player said it. That's why you never see the player say it, you just read it and then they say the player said it. You can tell the players didn't say it as they are almost always worded the same, and when you hear the player talk in an interview, you can tell he doesn't even know the meaning of half the words in the statment. Listen to Rooney or Ferdinand when they talk, then read a statement from them on one of their wrong doings and you will see it can't possibly be the same person.

The sign was in bad taste and disrespectful, The "it seems like he's the president of England" thing is ******* brilliant! Not only funny but completely correct.

Why is everyone choosing to ignore the quote I put which looks pretty much like an apology to me

I certainly didn't mean any disrespect to Sir Alex Ferguson, who I admire as a man and a manager."

I dont think it was that bad to be honest after Fergies "not in my life time" comment. He kind of left himself open

Why does the sign bother Fergie? RIP is a well-wishing sign.

Fergie is 70 and he'll need it soon.
