InsideAnfield I am truly gutted that RM didn't get the role, in one foul swoop the haters on this board got an ego trip so much that I fear RedFan & her team may have to bring in extra pins to burts their bubble.

Is it at all possible that FSG have played the ultimate tactical ploy with the media that some have ever seen? I mean your colleagues and network of informants must have known the ins and outs and have made all to feel that Roberto Martinez was the one of LFC but kept the true ace up their sleeves? I believe you had no knowledge of Rodgers getting the role, you have defended the idea of LFC approaching him for almost over 40 pages.

We also must look at what the hell happened in the meetings, AVB demanded too much, Roberto Martinez was put of by structuring, I dont think for a second we are a top four club anymore but seriously how can FSG go from some of the best names to picking the one thats about to sign on the dotted line? hell LVG is about to sign as DoF unless that as changed dramatically why not just make him the head coach and have Laudrup as the DoF? surely that would have worked and we would have two well respected footballing personel at our club.

I guess we can only hope and pray FSG pull off one of the best choices in the 20 years of the premier league otherwise we are going to be see some dark times ahead.

I understand your concern - But I really feel the club has been improving ever since FSG took over -
im having a hard time understanding why so many people on these threads are giving them the stick.
No matter how big names you sign and how big money you spent you will always be running a risk that it just wont work out.
I believe in signing a young and talented manager and giving him the time to rebuild the team is the only way to go.
unless you have a owner that is throwing in gazillions of gazillions, but i dont want LFC to become a club like that, would you?
We will hire the young manager and we will hire a very strong leadership surrounded by some of the best scouts
and we will start developing the team from the academy to the first team and it wont be done over night.
The future is bright - But the team and the owners need for us(THE FANS) to get behind the team and support the idea.
I dont think we will be playing champions league next year for sure,
but im very ceatain we will improve this season and that we will become a contender for the top4 spots the year after.
All of the adjustments FSG have been making are part of a longtermplan and im sure we will benefit from it,
so i say lets give the owners and the new manager our full support and try to get this club back where it belongs.

As a fan base we now need to move on. Its not who I wanted, and probably not who most fans wanted - but nothing can be done about this now.

Brendan Rogers is now our manager - lets get behind him and give him our full support, and show him how great this club is and how special our fans are. He needs a "liverpool" welcome. Too much argument and devisiveness (spelling!) these last few months. We need to unite as a fanbase and look foward to a fresh start and a new season ahead. Come on you reds!

I'm excited about Rodgers appointment. He's got potential. Even if it doesn't work out it'll be interesting. As for Insideanfield - LMAO. Sorry buddy but not only do you have unreliable sources you mixed in BS too. It was entertaining but probably not quite as entertaining for the people who placed a bet on Martinez based on your apparent certainty.

Sure the fans will support him, if it's going right...it's all about results.

Kenny was not afforded the same support from the board, so he did not last long.

I have a feeling that if things go horribly wrong for Rodgers, then he will blame the fans for not supporting him.

However, I am definitely not a troll and it was never my intention to mock supporters or provide false information. The information I provided was from my Boston-based colleagues and I have no doubt that what they told me was correct.
Trouble is mate we really have NO idea who you are. I know what you have said about who you are but that could just be talk. You got the final appointment of the manager wrong, your predictions along the way were no better than the media and the information you 'leaked' along the way was of questionable quality.

You have at least apologised (in part) which takes some balls but I predict that we won't see the 'insideanfield' moniker much in the future.....

Give IA a break , It was late on wed night when the owners apporached BR up until then it was RM in the driving seat. Maybe RM did not like the setup so he changed his mind ,

So the owners went after BR.Things in football can change from one day to the next we have seen it many times before ,Just like edan hazard was odds on to join man u or city ,then he changed his mind to choose chelsea. The only 2 that knew everything was the owners , and we know how they can change there minds just like they did with kenny.
They have changed there minds to on getting a dof by the look of things . So lets get behind BR and see what he brings

hope this is not true. BR will not atract real top class players without a man like LVG for DOF.

i'm excited with BR as our new manager and i hope it ill work well but i think bringing sigurdsson to anfield is needless, because we have good players on that position. we have to focus on other positions.
lets get ba before tottenham will get him.

How do you know? Are you a football insider? Brendan Rodgers is very well respected in the footballing world and Liverpool fc is one of the biggest clubs on the plannet.Pay the right money for the right players ,then anyone will come here.

It was initially included in the BBC report that a DoF was not going to happen when the Rodgers news leaked - however this point was removed with later updates. This is the route FSG always wanted to go so I'd expect it to happen still. Maybe not LvG but I think someone else is going to be appointed.

There was an hilarious comment on another thread last night where someone said that sacking Dalglish and appointing Brendan Rodgers was like kicking Holly Willoughby out of bed and replacing her with Susan Boyle.

One of my mates said, 'Yes, but at least you'll get a much better song out of SuBo.' After threatening to pour the remainder of my pint over his head, he explained his analogy. 'Gaggzy, what I mean is Rodgers will have us all singing his praises. The Kop will be like in the good old days every home match.'

I allowed him to continue to say how good it's gonna be while fighting this awful vision of Holly leaving my bedroom in tears as SuBo hit the opening bars of 'I dreamed a dream.'
