They are, but so are Leeds. Not everything is 'oh, a big club.... swoon'.

Everyone goes on about longevity determining success as a manager and then advocates all of these managers jumping to a slightly bigger club, it's silly.

Disagree about Leeds. Shocking support. Leeds is a bigger city than Liverpool, only 1 club and yet 15k smaller crowds. Leeds get the same crowds as Norwich, yet Norwich is 1/4 the population

That could soon change if the reports of arab money coming to the club are true, i dont know if the story was a rehash from a couple of years ago tho.

Completely disagree on Leeds, massive city to be sure, but since football dwindled there so did the club stature, nothing like Villa mate, once indeed, prehaps again, but certainly not now.

Hes a typical Villa manager. Not sure he'll be a huge success but he will probably improve them but he has very hard job on his hands.. their squad is pants and the football they were playing last season was diabolical, just bland and nothing happening.

He has to find half a dozen players with probably not much money and get them playing again.. Probably has one of the hardest jobs in the prem next season.

Leeds are in the Championship and have tasted the depths of League 1. It's understandable why the support have tilted. Plus they have a crook of a Chairman who refuses to buy players over 1 Million. Leeds United haven't spent a 1 Million for a very long time, when they have some sort of funds.

Plus there are talks of new owners coming in, possibly Arabs. So I wouldn't be surprised to see Leeds back in the big time in the next 5 years.

It's a good appointment for Villa, Lambert is a very good manager, two consecutive promotions with Norwich proves this.

Holt follows Lambert to Villa, seems predictable.
I can see Norwich going back down without some reinforcements and a decent manager coming in.

Good appointment by Villa I think. Feel a bit sorry for the Norwich fans tho, hope they find a decent replacement and stay up.

Erm, a few weeks ago he was flavour of the month and seemed favourite to become LFC or Villa manager. You think he wants to go through another season dodging relegation again?

Unless they spend money this summer then I think they'll be fighting against relegation again this season. Other than Given and Bent, I dont really rate their squad very highly and I think Lambert has a big job this season. Villa are still considered a mid table club for some reason so if he were to take them down it could ruin his career, at least in the short term.

Probably took Norwich as far as he can. Good for Villa and good for football if they can now stake a claim among the top teams in the country.

You can see that all is not well at Norwich. First, Grant Holt's transfer request and now this. If the board feel like they can maintain their premier league status without spending money, then they are probably in for a shock next season.

Can't really blame Lambert. 2 successive promotions is no mean feat. Getting relegated if he stayed with Norwich, even if a lack of investment was the leading cause, will be held against him.

Aston Villa have done well to appoint him, A very shrewd manager who also understands the value of wing play. Yup Norwich will suffer big tome without him and they will go down now. Not so sure about the swans because they are a very well ran club.

He's probably going to make a move for Holt since Villa released Heskey. A front 2 of Bent and Holt would be handy for them tactically. Could start both of them or rotate depending on the opponent.

Not really, the likes of Villa are right step up for someone Like Lambert. Some may say we skipped a step, others might say we have fallen that far back. Either way it is what it is, time to get on with it.

It scares me that Lambert is a modern British manager lauded on the radio by ex-players who've seen his managerial ability that is about to be undermined by an uninspiring spell at Villa. I hope we don't become the same laughing stock that Villa always are.

Not a bad shout, they've just released Heskey.
