Actually I think its LESS types - i.e. its best defined by two types - although I kind of know what he means: the extreme of one of the types is a liability to the club. By framing it that way he is trying to isolate them.
Not quite fair on the OP so will try to start a different thread.
I'm a 1.
I like objective 2's not opinionated ones.
3's I have no time for.
When things don't go so well I stay off the forum and don't bring everyone else down with pointless moaning.
I'm a 4.
4. Better than other fans. Bigger penis than all other fans. Bigger brain than all other fans. Generally better.
I guess I'm somewhere in between 1 and 2. I won't withold support from the club until it's earnt, but I won't sing YNWA when 3-0 down at half time like they did in Istanbul either.
There are plenty of 3's on this forum and those are the most vocal. While some of them are just plain idiots, the majority of them have are older fans who've had their loyalty let down in the past by unambitious managers - so it's understandable why they have that attitude.
Is that someone who just doesnt like the manager and will criticise them for everything even the good, OR someone who is just expecting the club to win everything and play faultless football? The third group are the critics and you never change them ever. Ever. If you win 4-0 it should have been five, if you win the league you should have won three. But I will never worry about that group, because you can never affect them.
Whats this thread all about then?
Whenever challenged by a misinformed, lazy, or clearly biased opinion I am absolutely 100% No 1
I'd say I was the first.
I'm definitely, without doubt, in the second group. But I don't see that as a bad thing. I love this club and it's my love for it that means I'll accept Brendan, even though I'm not happy with him, because I support the club no matter what. But he has to earn my respect by doing things for us. I can't respect a manager who does a **** job of it.
No 1. I never had trouble supporting Roy... until he bottled it.
Spot on divide and rule trick. I am not a sheep and neither am I a zombie. I was a LFC supporter long before Rodgers became manager and he is not going to place me in a category. We LFC supporters have one thing in common and that is our abiding LOVE for LFC pure and simple; because managers, owners and even supporters come and go but the club LFC is the only constant that remains. New managers, owners and supporters will always come and go.
Shankly never tried to categorise LFC supporters in all his years as manager.

All I know is at this point in time since his appointment all Rodgers seems to do is talk the talk a lot; I wait and see if all these will be transferred into the field of play. As of now all he says means nada to me. It is all hot air, I want to see what he does with LFC now that he is the manager.
YNWA
Like many have already said - I too would see myself as a mixture between 1 and 2. I tend to always be optimistic and sometimes find myself defending decisions made at the club or players who played badly because I like to see the best in things. But then every now and then I'll get a bit fed up with results, be disgruntled etc and question some players attitudes. So yeah mainly 1 but a pinch of 2Ha
THIS! Like you, I no longer have nay faith in the owners (FSG). Some are prepared to wait years for Brendan to get us back to first where Rafa had us; then years before we even become a title winning team. That is the FSG plans for LFC; hence their decision to go for an inexperienced man to take the helm at LFC.
He is at the moment talking the talk and getting a few supporters excited; but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
YNWA
You DO realise that your first sentence after THIS! suggests that you DO have faith in the owners? "I no longer have NAY faith in the owners" actually reads as "I no longer have no faith in the owners" which means that you DO have faith. You may now go back and edit your post to read "I no longer have ANY faith in the owners", if you like. #just saying.
Im the blind fate supporter ..We can never be wrong !
I will go with no.5

Rodgers must be a very smart manager to have noted that his priority to keep his job for good is to convince and earn his spurs from the 2nd group of supporters. Roy lost his job at Liverpool because he totally forgotten about this important group of supporters when he did not have results to back him up. Kenny lost his job because he also didn't have the results (at league table) to carry him throught, though he has overwhelming support from the first group of supporters.
Now, how Rodgers gonna earn his respects among this 2nd group of supporters? Before he can start winning games, he needs to build a strong team and have a good squad. Looking at or buying players from other teams from mid-table or relegation suspects may not be a good idea for him as he will need results straight from the first few games to prove that these players are good enough to wear the once proud RED jersey, as these group of supporters' patient level for him will be very thin. If he can bring in at least 1 big signing, someone of Suarez's capablities, Rodgers will be able to extend the patient level of these important groups of fans longer, to maybe a season at least.
I am from the second group of supporters and I will be very eager to see who are his summer signings.
You're right - its all idle speculation for the moment. Hard to resist though.
So had a look at a few rival forums. Two things stood out, first there is grudging respect and worry over Rodgers appointment. Second that its OK because knowing us we won't give him enough time.
I think thats why he's trying to isolate the critics. Hell even I remember people telling me how Benitez screwed up and lost us the Premiership...
Somewhere between 1 and 5 depending on my mood
We're taking a hugh gamble on Rodgers and I just hope it all works out for us. He talks the talk alright, but can he walk the walk, ???we'll find out soon enough, I'm cautiously optimistic though, you could say I have one foot in the Rodgers camp and the other one firmly on the fence.
I am 80% in 1 and 20% in 2
I have a very good feeling about Mr Rodgers taking this club , ( with being patience for at least 2 seasons that is ) back to competing at the Top ... But being PATIENCE is the key to our long term success , I am fed up with those fans at the club that expect success over night , In an ideal world yes maybe , but in the real world this is not going to happen ... I will be patient with Brendan Rodgers for at least the next two full seasons , to seeing a improvement in the right direction .
