With the announcement today that the new TV deal for the EPL is £3b compared to the old £1.8b, thats a 60% increase, this means 'potentially' we could be receiving around £30m+ extra every year from the League!

We Recived £54m for finishing 8th last season and a 60% increase on that would be a massive £86.4m! £32.4m extra. And that's if we finish 8th again! Ha

To show how huge this is, a 15,000 seat increase at Anfield would only get us an extra £18m a year, and it would cost A LOT of money to do.

In terms of a money tree, the Prem has just over taken the Champions League

Players wages will increase to swallow up the extra money the clubs get.

Extra money yes, but IF it's split equally then all Prem clubs will benefit from this. Relative to Euro leagues it's good for us all. I think the Prem tele money is relatively equal from top to bottom, compared to Spain at least, but top clubs obviously get more due to TV appearances.

We don't know how specific changes to ratios for individual clubs could change either, United could end up getting a crazy sum of money, City might get a major boost to FFP rules too. It could get much more difficult domestically not easier, but it could help teams here compete in Europe also.

Also do you have a source for the calculations? I.e. is it £3bn a year deal vs £1.8bn, does that account for the length of the deal?

Yes we'll get an increase in revenue but it's not that simplistic, all others clubs will get the increase as well, so what happens? every player get an additional £5mil added onto their value as every club knows their funds have increased. All it does is make the Championship playoff final worth £4.1 Billion

Yes obviously all clubs will benafit from this, to the tune on £1.2b extra!

There is an equal share but there is also a facility fee which goes on how many times you have been on TV. But all of this will increase 60% next season.

Yes we don't know yet, I was going of last years figures as if the increase was added to that, it won't be much difference though. Sporting intel just tweeted If City win the league next season there prize fund would double! To £120m, that's how big this deal is. Game changer.

Hopefully we may be able to improve on Bendtner and Jarvis

Its not always what people want, example being regardless of who it is, City, Liverpool, United, Arsenal, the same amount of people will end up viewing it, you can rest assure that the holders will feature often.

That's not right, more people viewd the FA Cup final last season than the Champions league final because we were in it. Sky no what teams pulls the most views, the more viewers the higher advertising they can charge. Not really a shock that we were 3rd in highest paid facility fees

It's was in this country sorry, 11m views the FA Cup final and 6.5m views CL final. And I could imagine that more people in Aisa etc watched the FA cup final rather than the CL final

The FA cup in this county is often viewed by more than CL, but world wide its not even close, CL final wins every time.

More money coming into the league = higher wages and higher transfer fees. The only thing this deal would do is make the Premier League stronger in relativity.

In Asia they prioritise Man Utd and Liverpool matches. Doesn't matter what other matches are showing, if it clashes with a Liverpool match (unless if its a top 4 battle), they will show the Liverpool match. So many Chelsea and Arsenal fans disappointed, but they are minority. City fans are almost non existent in comparison, but they are expected to grow obviously. We just need to climb up the table...we are competing with Utd from 8th place and doing well here I assume in terms of fans. However, it will drop if we don't start to climb up sooner rather than later.

Your forgetting all the extra pie and beer sales from the extra 15000 seats!

Is this just for the UK rights or globally for the rest of world which they can then resell ? Seem to remember they were split before but some debate about what would happen after that pub in england won its court case to show foreign satellite coverage in UK.

I agree with you, LFC has to invest and ensure we move up the table this season and from now on to ensure we keep growing our fan base in that part of the world. Rafa helped us a great deal in that regard when he was manager.

It is no use the owners acknowledging the fan base in the far east and then sit on their laurels. Barcelona, Man ******, Arsenal are intensifying their effort to grow their fan base in that part of the world.

It is no wonder that Arsenal will be touring in the Far East again this summer, following on from last summer. That is 2 consecutive years they are doing that.

Our fan base in the Far East I am sure is 10x than in the States. In the States, they have other major national sports such as Baseball, America Football and Basketball to exercise their minds. Football or Soccer as it is referred to in the States is still a small potato compared to the ones I alluded to in the last sentence.

Anyway, LFC is off to touring the States, wish the team all the best. But I don't expect the US tour to generate the kind & level of excitement that Asia tour generate.
