hmm what to make of these comments....
I heard that Kelly refused to sign a contract extension with LFC, was it true? Or just lazy journalism?
Massive loss for them that.West Brom have announced midfielder Zoltan Gera will miss the rest of the season after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
"I'm devastated for Zoltan," said Baggies boss Steve Clarke. "He's a terrific guy and professional and I want to thank him for his contribution this season. It has been invaluable."
On another note for us, it states on the OP link that J Enrique Hamstring Injury return Feb 13th, F Borini Ankle/Foot Injury return Jan 13th, M Kelly ACL Knee Injury return Mar 13th. Unlucky for some!
Going the same way as Darby it looks.Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Jon Flanagan is facing up to three months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The 20-year-old sustained the problem during Monday's U21s victory over Southampton at the Academy.
Rumour is Loic Remy will be out for 3 months with his torn groin muscle. By the time he's fit again he could be playing in the Championship.
Hope so.Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge hopes to be fit for next Monday's Premier League clash with West Brom.
The 23-year-old withdrew from England's squad to play Brazil this week with a thigh injury.
Sturridge suffered the injury in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday, a game in which he scored his fourth goal since joining Liverpool from Chelsea last month.
"I got a knock on my quad and I'm going to get a scan on it," he told the club's website. "Hopefully it's not too serious and I'll be okay for next week's game."
The good news for playing on Monday is he gets longer to recover as do the players on international duty. Fingers crossed for those as well.
Liverpool are hopeful Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling will be fit to face West Bromwich Albion at Anfield on Monday night, according to first-team coach Mike Marsh.
A serious injury also soured Liverpool Under-21s’ 2-1 victory over West Brom yesterday.
The Reds’ American midfielder Marc Pelosi was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg towards the end of the game at The Hawthorns.
Joao Carlos Teixeira netted the winner for Alex Inglethorpe’s side after Jordon Ibe’s opener had been cancelled out by Adil Nabi.
Pelosi was the victim of a bad challenge from Liam O’Neil who was shown a straight red card.
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen will face three months out if he has surgery on a shoulder problem, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Allen has been hampered by the problem since October and, even though he is happy to play on, manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be unwilling to postpone surgery until the end of the season.
If its for the best then it needs to be done, get him sorted out for the beginning of next season..
Wilshere has picked up a knock that will help swansea out a bit come the weekend if its true. and therefore help us out if swansea get a result.
I agree Tony, and so does Joe.
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen is keen to get his shoulder operation out of the way so he can be fully fit for the start of next season. Allen will be in Chris Coleman's Wales squad for the World Cup qualifiers with Scotland and Croatia when it is unveiled on Wednesday.
But the player is facing an extended period on the sidelines at some point after discovering a recurrence of an old shoulder injury had deteriorated to the point where further surgery is required. "I can play on, but it is all about the timing because I will be out for three months," said Allen. "Obviously, I don't want to miss the start of next season if I can."
We need to get him under the knife ASAP whilst we are fairly flush with midfielders. Getting him ready for next season is a must IMO.Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen is expected to play in both World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia despite the Reds revealing he needs a shoulder op.
Allen has been pulled from the Wales squad and is expected to have surgery.
Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen will miss the remainder of the season after it was decided he should undergo surgery on his left shoulder on Thursday.
The problem has had an increasingly negative affect on Allen's form in recent weeks and his discomfort was such that he was substituted at half-time during Liverpool's 3-1 defeat by Southampton on Saturday.
Not heard anything formal from the club about Sturridge but rumours are rife we may be starting the season without him and Gerrard.
