Just found an old bookmark for up to date inury status. Worth a look at and you may want to bookmark yourselves for future reference, it proved to be accurate last season.

We are very fortunate, some have 9 players out!

Gilmores groin is more commonly known as a sportsmans hernia. Its a tear to certain fibres of the adductors. Not a great injury to be honest, can often require surgery for it.

Cheers for that. Hadn't heard this about the lad from the club it intrigues me how that website publishes stuff we regularly question on this forum. Could be some time off then it seems.

    Keep forgetting Joe Cole exists.

He would even get in last night's team, he needs to leave in January for his own sake!

What I find interesting is there is no mention of Enrique on that list and yet he claims he's injured. Very odd.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger says he is happy to keep playing with a minor fracture in his kneecap.

"I feared the worst when it happened," Agger tells the Liverpool Echo. "I thought it was a bad one and that I would be out for months. But, thankfully, it was just a really hard knock to the knee. I've got a small fracture in the bone but it's only a minor thing. It's not a problem."
    Big gamble surely?

It depends, if it's just a chip to the bone and not a full on crack, he can continue playing.

Agger really needs to drink more milk.

Lucas Leiva is in contention to make his return to action this week, assistant manager Colin Pascoe has revealed.

The Reds are set to play four games in as many days, with the U18s, U21s and first team all in action from Thursday to Sunday.

And Lucas, who has not figured for Liverpool since sustaining a thigh problem against Manchester City on August 26, could be considered for 45 minutes in Friday's second-string clash against Middlesbrough - though not before being assessed by the club's medical team.

Pascoe told Liverpoolfc.com: "The next step is getting his strength up in training and hopefully he can get 45 minutes in the reserve game on Friday.

We have been fortunate in comparison to some teams, Arsenal have 7 out, so do the Mancs, Villa and Newcastle. Our plight could have been much worse had we suffered like tghem. We are joint third from bottom in the treatment room, http://www.physioroom.com/news/engli...jury_table.php

If Lucas comes back for this weekend, I'll be furious. He's not close to ready. He shouldn't play significant minutes until mid-December at the earliest.

We should view Lucas as a January transfer acquisition, slowly-slowly does it.

Not trying to be argumentative but how do you or any of us know what he's prepared for. These estimated returns are based on averages and some players are faster healers compared to others. If he was to come back this weekend I would be surprised if he plays more than 10-20 mins.

What I did find funny was Michael Owen - oh the shock and sheer surprise - he has a hamstring injury!!!

I heard him mentioned as maybe getting 45 mins for the U-21's. Not the first team.

If Lucas returns for the spuds game it will give the team a big boost.

He can start training now in the first team till the start of december

Play the reserves game of 45 mins per for 2 weeks . and 90 minutes for the following 2 weeks.

In january let him play 45 minutes with the reserves & 30 minutes with the first team .

Let him play 65 minutes each game till the start of feburary before letting him play 80 minutes-90 minutes for the rest of the season .

If the liverpool management pushes lucas back into the team within 2 weeks and make him play 90 minutes , and for no ****** good reason he goes down with another season long injury , i will really go mad .

I agree he needs to be eased back into it but we are going to need him before Jan, so I'd imagine if he is declared fit by the medical staff then he will be played.

    Need ?

We are going to be a joke if we start rushing lucas in if we get some poor results .

No 1 . Rush lucas back in and risk him having a season of injury again .

No 2 . Do it slow and steady and give another 1-2 months before 90 minutes is done regularly , ensuring him fully fit for us forever .

I hope rodgers has a IQ to pick the correct choice .

I think we need to get his fitness up in reserve games and perhaps a cameo in the Europa and then look at him starting from the bench, gradually building up his playing time.

As I said he needs to be introduced back into it slowly but the reality is if results slacken off a bit between here and Jan Brendan may be forced to play him, the right decision for the player is often outweighed by pressure mounted on the manager if results aren't going to plan.
