Can anyone clarify what the rules are regarding this?

I thought it was a suspension for 5 yellow cards in 10 games, which is then extended to something like 10 yellow cards in 20 games?

    I think it's 5 yellows before 31st December = 1 game ban.

    10 yellows before 10th april = 2 game ban.

    etc

Suarez is on his 4th yellow card atm, but has been well behaved recently

31st December? oh wow. I think we can expect him to get a yellow before then

Too bad we don't have any league cup matches that he could miss instead

Ideally Luis will get a yellow card in the late stages of the Spurs match and be substituted immediately before he gets another. He should practice kicking the ball away when Spurs are awarded a free kick.

Oh dear, what AM I saying?

You get a two match ban only if you got banned for getting 5 yellows.

Yep, otherwise it's just a one-match ban again.

Luis will get booked against Wigan, miss Swansea away.

Every time I have said he'll get suspended, he hasn't been.

He's even helping players up onto their feet, offering solace while they wait for physio treatement, thumbs up to refs and sending hugs to players. Quite the diplomat!

I agree with this, the home game against Southampton is one where we can (hopefully) win without him.

But where will any goals come from?

If Luis is out I just don't see us scoring

Southampton have the weakest defence in the league, especially away from home, so I think that's one game where the rest of our squad can find ways to score. It's at Anfield so we really should be able to win that without him. We beat WBA away in the cup (near full strength) without him, as one example.

Either that or Suarez gets no more yellows between now and Jan... lol

This could be the big opportunity for Ngoo, him of the mesmeric foot animations; while the Soton defenders were transfixed someone else could slip the ball into the net - or he might even dance a hat-trick into the net himself. I reckon he is due a chance anyway as one of our most consistent performers of his generation.
