My take on our signings/targets so far:

Aspas - don't see much different between him and Borini
Toure - Wouldn't of been my first choice
Alberto - very excited, my type of player
    Llori - very promising
Atsu - don't see any need for him unless we get rid of Downing
Mkhitaryan - bit of a risk considering where he's coming from and his price tag. Same player as Eriksen only less experienced and more expensive

Aspas - Completely different player to Borini, if you cant see a difference your blind.
Toure - If you was looking for an experienced defender, who would slot right in and be a very capable back-up for free. Who would you have gone for instead?
Alberto - Not seen enough of him, but he sounds promising.
    Llori - Same as above.
Atsu - Young, very fast, has potential, cheap. Would offer more than Downing from the bench. Downing will be off I reckon.
Mkhitaryan - Again hes completely different to Eriksen, just because a player plays the "same position" doesn't mean they are the same. Big price tag, but has done the business in Europe and domestically in a top side.

why are we in all honesty targeting ilori, alberto, aspas and mhkitaryan when we should be targeting alderwerield, diame, honda, tello and eriksen.

from those targets only see mhkit starting.

That's how much ive seen of him. Easy mistake to make when you see llori a lot not ilori. The Captial gets left behind in favour of the small L, so its Ilori.

thanks for clearing that one up.

He shouldn't be in that list...ability or potential wise.

Dejan Lovren [Lyon - Southampton] 8.5m (reported)
Is this the fella we were rumoured with, a defender?

"Their bid to sign Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos, however, is over. The Reds' interest in the Greek international has cooled after initial negotiations with the German club proved fruitless.

Liverpool rate Papadopoulos, and value him at around 12m, but Schalke's insistence on a deal worth around 20m means the deal is no longer an option, with Rodgers now set to pursue other central defensive targets. Ajax's Toby Alderweireld is a potential option."

Echo claim we're no longer in for Papadopoulos. Very disappointed, if true. He looks a cut above all other defensive options this summer. Hopefully we can get them to come back to us with a lower asking price.

SSN are reporting that Higuain is to join Arsenal which they took from a Guardian story. Wow...

Alderweireld is not good enough to start. Loads of You Tube clips showing he is comfortable on the ball, not many showing he can actually defend or that he is an organiser and leader
Diame is a joke for Liverpool. There is a reason Wigan let his contract run down and only West Ham wanted him, and nobody has seriously tried to buy him with such a low release clause
I like Tello but he does not want to leave his beloved Barcelona. I hope we get him, even if it is initially on loan
Eriksen is like Papadopoulos. He has become an obsession for LFC fans when Mkhitaryan is a better player than him and has demonstrated that for Shakhtar in their domestic league and the CL, and he has proved himself at international level

Eriksen clearly wants to go to Dortmund, and I do believe he will be part of Klopp's team come the start of the season. I really hope we land Mkhitaryan ( I even learned how to pronounced his name ) but I really do not know what sources to believe and am quite frankly tired of all the rumors circulating the web.

So looks like this so far:

    Ins:

    Mingolet 11m
    Kolo Toure - FREE
    Luis Alberto - 7m
    Aspas - 7.7m
    Total - 25.7m

    Outs:

    Carroll - 15m
    Total 15m

    Net Spend 10.7m

Looks OK so far but i fail to see a first teamer yet.

The First 11 Quality is our priority.

I think Honda on a free would be good business.

Also if we could add mkhitaryan and someone like tello our attacking midfield options would be excellent.

It's very hard to play with accurate numbers as our transfer budget includes wages as well. That will also include pay offs etc. Some lead us to believe we only lost 12 million on Carroll as the Hammers sale actually equates to 23 million with add ons, wages and loan fees received already.

I think we are more or less under spending to be objective and I applaud that wise and prudent financial acquisition plan.

ive been saying this all along...couldnt see the point in selling reina for mignolet if your not happy with the back up jones..the situation is still the same if we`d sold reina!

Was this not a gripe that Standard Charter had with us a while back. They wanted more Asian players on the team, or am i wrong? i think I am right.

It is a smart thing to do with or without Standart...
I would gladly sacriface Shelvey for Honda by the way

Swansea captain Ashley Williams, 29, is preparing to tell his club he wants to leave this summer. Arsenal are the centre-back's preferred destination, ahead of Everton and Liverpool.

BUT the local newspaper in Swansea, the South Wales Echo carries an article in which Huw Jenkins, the Swansea Chairman states clearly that they have had no enquiries for Ashley Williams (the quotes were in another thread on the forum)

Ashley Williams may have several preferred options for next season, his problem seems to be that at this time none of the clubs mentioned prefer him

Because he plays for the club Rodgers used to manage he gets a lot of abuse on here, despite being one of the best and most consistent centre backs in the Premiership last season. His problem is that statement still does not say a lot as there were very few decent centre backs in the league last year, and for a player who is 29 the supposed 10m Swans want for him is far too much

I have seen a lot of this player & i agree with a lot of you he would fit in under Brendans way of playing...but i can never remember him at arsenal tbh.

Gerard Deulofeu on loan anyone? Sure I read that him and Alberto played well together.
