Have to disagree with this! He's not the young Dutch kid at all nobody can compete with MVG when he's on form.

Yeah, not only beat Taylors average he smashed it out the park. Think thats a record thats going to last a long time.

BDO starts Saturday, difference between it and PDC is 114 would be a decent 6 dart average in that tournament.

I do like watching the bdo. One of these years I'll make a trip to the lakeside. Preferably if Ted Hankey is playing.

As exceptional as he can be, I just find his on stage demeanor to be really annoying. Hope Anderson slaps him around the stage.

I like Anderson and hope it's a good competitive match but fear MVG will turn the afterburner on and win this at a canter.

    MVG to win 7-3

Yeah, a good competitive game would be great to see. Van gerwen has just had the equivalent of a 13-0 victory in football. How often do we see teams struggle following a perfect performance? Will we see something similar tonight, trying to follow up near perfection?

Thought the interview with Phil Taylor after his match against Barney was funny, this after their Premier League game on Thursday night...

Phil Taylor was talking about his epic rivalry with Barney over the years...and comparing it with great rivalries in sport. He was trying to find an example, and of all the great historic rivalries he could have come up with?

Yep, you've probably guessed it..."Roy Keane and Jason Macateer"

I must have missed that one

Here's one I didn't see coming, Doink dominating the circuit in 2017! Whitewashed MVG in a Euro Tour Final on the weekend and looking good for a good stab at the Premier League title.....

Pity Chizzy didn't get through to finals night. Good campaign though Dave...well done! Hopefully Snakebite or MVG win the Premier League.

Rob Cross is some player isnít he? He plays like heís been on the circuit for years. Heís been unlucky the past few tournaments that he always finds himself in in MVGs quarter/half of the draw, but heís come close to beating him a couple of times now.

Canít wait to see the back of Phil Taylor, as good as he is heís a absolute knob, as MVG confirmed in the post-match interview . Criticising Gurney for being a zombie and needs to lighten up (although in this case, I actually agree with Phil) yet didnít like MVG celebrating winning legs in the match this afternoon.

Looking forward to the Worlds next month

Yeah Rob Cross has a shout for the Worlds, Gary Anderson will also be a major contender...hard to luck past MVG though.

It will be a brilliant tournament, can't wait.

    KnottyBackSte got Rob Cross right

End of an era tonight as Phil "The Power" Taylor, plays his last game in the 2018 PDC World Championship final

Please donít let Phil Taylor win tonight!

Hopefully the crowd donít spoil it too much for the players by trying to put them off, thatís been the one disappointing thing in whatís otherwise been a great tournament. Despite being pleased for Cross winning I felt sorry for MvG who seemed to be affected by the crowd whistling and booing towards the end of his game.

With some of the results this tournament, who on earth is going to get in the Premier League? It was nice to see Jamie Lewis break through and for Van Den Bergh to give a good account of himself too, hopefully they both carry their form into the new year.

Was rooting for Taylor, but I was so disappointed with him tonight, both in his poor performance and behaviour.

But well done rob cross, a very worthy champion. Wish we could play so ruthlessly!
