Don't really know what to say about this new link, it's not very exciting to say the least but i can well believe this speculation.

Seen this yesterday but couldn't bring myself to give it more than a seconds thought. Just seeing his name linked with us makes your eyes sting. Sadly as it's up on the boards now I guess we don't have a choice to think about it.

Would make no sense as the whole point is that he wants regular football so if he came who's place would he take? I would cry if he was even on the bench on the opening day of the season, let alone the first team.

Worryingly this type of player is right up Rodgers street. English, only 28, experienced, someone who is not a regular player and can pick up on the cheap. Sadly folks I think the is a bit of truth in it. I only hope Arsenal beat us to him, but being so close to his home and not having to relocate might sway it towards Liverpool.

Here is one time I will be happy to lose a player to Arsenal. Am sure he would be a half decent back up player but should not be a first choice player. Not even close.

Brendon Rodgers signings are getting a little more worrying as time goes on.

I'd guess I probably rate Milner higher than most on here but he'd still be a signing that I'd struggle to make sense of.

If he were available for a reasonable fee (c.10m) then he would have been a decent squad option to have signed instead of Lallana if we were also looking at a higher profile player to come in as more of a regular starter.

Having already signed Lallana though I can't see how Milner would fit in at all.

I wouldn't even discuss it because I'd say there's no truth in it whatsoever.

Saying the managers signings are strange is a figure of speech? Very strange indeed.

I was reffering to the players bought in aswell as the links as proposed signings not as factual players we have signed . Yes we shouldnt take links to serious but then we would have nothing to discuss , so yes it was used figuratively

Another one that says something that doesn't actually mean what he says

Maybe if people either said what they mean or actually waited for something to happen before jumping the gun and taking rumours as gospel before spouting so others don't take what they say the wrong way..

Maybe don't join a discussion you have no interest in. I wanted to discuss this proposed transfer with people and see what they think of Milner. If you don't have anything good to say don't say anything ,i really have no desire to get into childish back and forwards arguemants with people on the internet . Im not sure why you think you have an opinion on what i should discuss with people on here.

I don't take links as gospel , but unless you didnt notice people like to talk about transfer speculation of players linked with us.

Your a strange one to think you could rattle someone on the internet even stranger if thats your intention and your actually trying to do that, happy trolling. :FP: By the way not rattled in the slightest , shaking my head with a little disbelief of how imature some people can be maybe.

Solid performer. Can play either wing and CM aswell, im not against it on the cheap. To be fair he always performs for city when given the opportunity.

There were reports a few weeks back that we approached city about one of their players. Maybe the media caught wind again and decided it had to be Milner - dozey arses.

Have to say I thought it was M Richards.

He not a bad player, underrated IMHO, but he is not what we need. Think City looked a more solid unit when he played.

I'll have him ahead of Lucas in midfield.

Not exactly a replacement for, but IF he were to sign you'd have to think one of our current midfielders would probably be on the move, and if I had to pick one to move on it would be Lucas.

It would give us something like:
    Gerrard/Can
    Hendo/Allen-Coutinho/Milner
    Sterling/Markovic-Sturridge/Lambert-Lallana/Remy

With many of those players comfortable in various positions/formations.

Maybe not entirely without merit, but it would leave little/no room for any 'major' signing for the attack.
