I would like to see lallana have a run of games

he plays one week then dropped the next.

I think he could be a really good player for us if he gets a run of games and get his confidence up

    what do use think.

He's been one the players that's acquitted himself pretty well in most games. I'm struggling to think of him having a shocker, which certainly isn't the case for most other players.

If he had some genuine pace the lad would be dynamite.

Would be happy to see him get some more game time. He certainly has the ability to make things happen in the final third.

Cant see a place where Lallana gets a start in the first 11.

If we played 4231 then left hand side of the 3 behind the striker. I know a fair few would have him in ahead of Coutinho but personally I never would.

Lallana is overrated, not in same category of skill as Coutinho.

Drop Henderson is what I would do. Wouldn't mind seeing both Coutinho and Lallana on the pitch.. Lallana Gerrard and Can with Coutinho on the tip of the diamond supporting the SAS (sterling and Studge)

Midfielder's games starts in the Premier League:

    Gerrard 11 games

    Henderson/Sterling 10 games

    Coutinho 6 games

    Lallana 5 games

    Allen 4 games

    Can 3 games

For 25m you would think there was a plan, unfortunately there doesn't seem to be one and the position he would likely take in our side is taken by a better player. To play him sees either Coutinho, Sterling or the vice captain dropped.

You can't complain about lack of funds when you are spending that sort of money on a player that is supposed to be able to play multiple roles that still can't get a game.

Lallana's best position is on the left in a 4-2-3-1 like formation, but were useless when we play that formation so it makes the signing seem even more daft. In the diamond he can play in the 10 but that would mean dropping Sterling (when Sturridge is fit and partnering Balotelli) which isn't going to happen.

Needs to be given a run of games and got to play centrally, that's where I would play him.

He's had no pre season, he's been out injured, It's clear he needs a run of games.

when he's played he's looked better than most on the pitch. We lack goals an creativity at the moment and Adam offers exactly that.

I see no logical reason why he's being used sparingly. As it stands it's a waste of 25m.

I think its whether he is considered to be a 'better option' than other players that play the position he would be taking up.

Personally, and I do like him as a player, I don't think he is.

Yes, I would definitely like to see Lallana get a run of games. I've really liked what I've seen of him so far and I can see him getting a few goals for us.

His versatility is simililar to Coutinhos. It would be very easy to find a role for him.

Lallana is a decent squaddie (bought for insane money).

He showed it against WBA, great goal. Like I said in the other thread, games against lower half teams are his level.

Against the top teams, no chance.

I see him as a more attacking minded Henderson. Ideally I'd like to see them line up beside each other in midfield with Can pumping in behind.

I can't agree, I hate him on the left, he is not effective enough there, through the middle is where Lallana has to play to get the best out of him.

I prefer him in the middle too, but is not as good as Sterling or Coutinho. Nothing against him, I rate him as a player, just cant see a place for him in our starting XI.

Scores more goals though, and more to the point Coutinho can't play every game, plus there will be variances in form over the course of a season.

It's not about specific players being better than others, it's about having options.

Maybe something like this a sort of 4-3-2-1

    ---------------Gerrard---------------
    ---------Can----------Lallana--------
    ---------Sterling--Coutinho-------
    -------------Sturridge---------------

Coutinho and Lallana could change depending on what way the game is going.

Treatment off Lallana has been very weird. I thought he was bought to really feature heavily in our first XI. He was our main transfer target but he just doesn't seem to get a chance while, when he has played, he has been decent.

I could understand it if the team was flying but we have been **** and it's a seriously weird strategy to buy a player for 25m to let him rot on the bench. But it's to be expected from our transfer commitee and Rodgers I suppose.

Would leave the defence with no cover, if we was to play that formation I would start with Coutinho and Lallana swapped, but would ideally need Henderson or Allen there for that formation IMO.

That's almost certainly the case. Bit of clever play now and again but little real substance there. Plays in pockets, no great pace. Inflated fee paid. Might get the odd decent game from him but he's nowhere near what you would call a top 4 player.

One or two decent seasons for Soton and we took the bait.

sorry but i can't think of the players right now any better at playing against these so called top half teams.

We don't have the midfield of 2008

For me he's a wonderful player, technically he is brilliant, very close control, can pass, dribble, finish and works exceptionally hard. I'd have him in the middle, but we have many options... I would like to see in some games Can behind Hendo and Adam, just to see how it may work.

I think he's too useful to use sparingly and personally, I think he is much, much more consistent than Coutinho, as brilliant as the magician is on his day.

The frustrating thing is, we have so many options, and yet, we're failing to make them work thus far.

    Can
    Hendo - Lallana
    Sterling
    Sturridge - Balotelli

    Gerrard
    Can - Lallana
    Sterling - Sturridge - Coutinho

    Henderson - Can
    Markovic - Lallana - Sterling
    Sturridge
