    Not really.

That Mauri kid of theirs looks interesting and is meant to be good though.

Saw only snippets of him, mostly his Parma highlights.

Aye, maybe what Milan needs is a fresh generation, untarnished by the rotting core of the club.

Serie A has loads of wonderful talents though. We could upgrade our entire back four there for peanuts. Maybe it's due a rise.

I would look to Serie A for some experience. If we signed a Dahoud, I'd sign a more experienced, 30+ player, just to give us some of that steel.

I'd definitely take a look at Vecino.

So what's the current state of play?

Who are your recommendations? Is there a link to a table or something?

I'd probably look at full backs like Masina and Vrsaljko, and cbs like Izzo and Romagnoli.

Some good young DMs like Diawara and Fernando of Sampdoria.

Just obviously the Serie A fear thing.

Serie A has some bargains. We could spend 25m on Dahoud and get 3 positions sorted with quality from Serie A for the same money.

Aye, although there do seem to be bargains all over if we're wise to it.

The thing with signing players from Serie A is, that you're never certain that they'll do well here. Maybe that's an unfair view to have, but it is usually the norm.

Right, I've watched every match compilation of Leandro Paredes I can find to rconfirm my views that he is the one (NEO), and I am utterly convinced.

He's exactly what we need in our midfield alongside Can/another DM.

For Paredes we need someone more disciplined than Can.

Perhaps. Paredes does stay fairly deep-ish, but we may need somebody who can provide more cover than Can, to both the cbs and the fbs.

    Plenty of possible names.

For that no 6 role, I want a nasty player. Not fancy, or a technical maestro, even some Eastern European mug will suit me good.

Vecino. I just like in some phases of play he's like, **** it, I'll take it on.

Ha, I'd prefer a smart but physical player.

My shortlist would be: Bakayoko, Jorrit Hendrix, Diawara, Fernando, Allan, Escalante and one or two others.

Have you seen Fernando? at Sampdoria.

I have. He reminds me of Allan. Not a dribbler like Allan though.

Bit more technical imo and more graceful on the ball.

De Roon is a bit like Allan in terms of winning the ball back.

    Interesting thread.

If I can raise the question of central midfielders - It is the position I have a particular interest in because it is the position I reckon we need to fill most. So, has anyone heard of Sergej Milinković-Savić of Lazio? 21, nearly 6'4', physically very strong, hard working central midfielder .. he is forward thinking and creative as well but the thing that stands out for me is his ball winning ability. He is a beast in midfield, from what I have seen.

I like the way he seems to be able to impose himself on opposing players.

Did anyone see anything of him last season? He played 25 times for Lazio and scored 2 goals.

From looking at all the Media reports on the LFC site, it seems to be working out pretty much the same as previous years with previous managers .
Liverpool are linked with just about everyone including the kitchen sink and surprise surprise , we very much look like missing out on everyone . Its looking very much like Everton ,Spurs and Man United will get there first for all the linked targets
Sounds very similar to when Brendan Rodgers was in charge , he missed all the good ones and finished up getting loads of very ordinary players and paying totally exorbitant prices for them . Is this going to happen yet again with Jurgan Klopp in the driving seat ??? It would be nice if we saw less of the fantasy targets , and some one from the club actually came up with a plausible REALISTIC target ???????

Well I hope we are not to believe all the reports in the papers regarding all the so called targets Liverpool have shown interest in ?? Its looking very much like yet another failed summer transfer session . So far I have read that Liverpool have or are about to miss out on quite a few targets , Tello, Lacazette , Icardi, Hector, and Zelinski ???? with our only additions being limited to a pensioner goal keeper aged 39. (Who actually was very good in his hey day, No disrespect )
With us NOT being involved in any Euro Competition it is always going to be difficult to attract any one of note . Ive seen us being linked now with Newcastle's Sissoko and what has to be the most ridiculous price imaginable 35 million , you cannot be serious ???? more like 3.5million is nearer the mark .
I think other clubs see Liverpool as an easy dumping ground for over rated players knowing full well that we like to pay exorbitant over inflated prices and are gullible and daft enough to pay them , ie Balotelli , Carrol , Benteke . Our negotiators have not had a good record over the years especially Ian Ayre having the final say on things .
I really do hope that Jurgen Klopp has every thing under control and is going to surprise us all with a couple of OUTSTANDING Marque signings ?????? :FP:

Looks like hopefully I might be wrong , positive moves from Jurgan to land Lacazette , Hector and Zelinski , wouldn't that be nice

A player I am looking forward to seeing next season is Ricca of Malaga. They signed him in Feb of this year. He's a tidy LB and since much of talk has been about LB's I thought I'd mention him.

Just looking at the Serie A transfers; great fun.

Ljajic to Torinio, Sampdoria sell Correa and Fernando, Udinese sign Rodrigo De Paul, Bologna sign Adam Nagy, Empoli get Matheus Pereira, Diks to Fiorentina, Pjaca to Juve etc.

And then Vrsajlko and Vasquez have gone to Spain. awesome.

Wow, Sevilla signed Ganso, Kiyotake, Correa and Vasquez. What a mix.
