As most are probably aware, sadly KingKirky and Amanda were recently killed in a car crash. Neil, KingKirky's cousin has sadly informed us of developments. I did not know KingKirky better than any other forum member, but he was one of us. KingKirky often frequented the boxing thread, and was passionate and insightful in his posts, therefore with agreement from the mods, in memory of KingKirky...the boxing thread has now been renamed.

    R.I.P. to KinkKirky and Amanda.

I think KingKirky would have enjoyed the Bellew fight on Sunday night, not sure what he would of thought of a fight between Bellew and Haye at Heavyweight?! Although Bellew probably recognises the interest in the heavyweights has been more than reignited, and with clever match-making and promoting, the rewards can be great.

I see Bellew and Haye have exchanged "pleasantries"

That would be a fight is pay to watch if they could make it

So pro boxers to fight at the Olympic's

    Pro's go 12 rounds
    Amateurs go 3 rounds
Seems a tad unfair to me

Seems ridiculous to me, they're virtually 2 different sports. I think the top amateurs would be favourites against average boxers but there's also the potential for massive mismatches. Imagine the likes of GGG entering against some amateur? (Although it's unlikely).

It's a ridiculous decision and potentially dangerous as you highlighted. Why change for the changes sake ?

And Amir wants to box for Pakistan?

    Just wrong for me

Has Khan said that? I'd have thought all the top boxers would avoid it. Khan had his crack at it, move on and let others. It should be the pinnacle for young amateurs, not fighters who potentially have already been world champions for **** sake.

I've seen Mick Conlan and Paddy Barnes on Twitter saying they welcome the pros and they'll do them up over 3 rounds, and I tend to believe it, but if the big boys start coming into the equation, it could be a different matter altogether.

Yeah he said it on sky, there was me thinking he was British

Yeah agree, they get enough glory, an amateur should aspire to winning gold then turning pro and elevator further not the other way round

    Absolute joke

Its the pinnacle of an amateur boxer, never mind the health issues. Imagine a kid lining up against Pacquiao. Disgraceful decision

You maybe right and you are not being a party pooper, it was just a suggestion made following the sad news. The boxing thread suggestion had already been made to the mods prior to the UFC changing it's title, otherwise it would not have been suggested. If you and the mods want to change the boxing thread name, I think the main thing was the sentiment and that KingKirky will be remembered on the boards, which I'm sure he will.
