Fast as hell with the ball, and great control of the ball when running.

    Sexy.

So excited to see what he can do.

Looked like a 50-60m player yesterday.

But has to perform every game ... We don't need another Firmino, who only truly turns it on 1 game in 3.

Pretty impressive stats as well -

    Goals - 1

    Shots - 3

    Take-ons - 4

    Pass Accuracy - 92.9%

    Tackles - 4

    Duels Won - 16

    Ball Recoveries - 8

Just love those last two as well.

Not just he's a threat going forward
but he works hard as hell.

A common complaint last year was that we were bereft of ideas going foward.

I dunno if you could make that claim any more...
Herr Klopp is up for it over the long haul...are you?

Agreed. If you could put into pictures the sort of thing we were missing from an attacking perspective last season, then that performance from Mane yesterday encapsulated everything.

He looked like a proper world class player yesterday. If he performs like that more often then not then its a hell of a signing, possibly best one since Suarez.

He just seemed to energise the whole team in the Gunners' half.

And that's after a RUBBISH first half from us...can't wait to see a match when we're on from the start!!

My biggest concern was the price tag affecting him mentally with the added pressure of being our most expensive player.
Must say, thus far, he is coping just brilliantly.

    What a performance yesterday.

    Long may it continue.

Mane is certainly proving he is value for money so far, his goal was stunning.

Only player that looked remotely arsed first 45, battling for every ball... it was fantastic to see.

    Deserved his goal.

Apart from his incredible goal, he was probably the best player on the pitch. Great start.

He can be a patchy player, though, so if he can deliver performances like this frequently over the next 2 years, he'll become crucial.

Early days so no point going off the deep end but yesterday he brought to the game exactly what you'd want - pace, power and directness. We don't have a lot of that in the team at all and a bit like when PHIL and Danny signed, its always as clear as day when a player who's a good fit comes into the team.

Really? Has he even watched him at all? So many people say crap on here without really having seen it if you know what I mean.

what people saying about when sign him, poor buy, not good enough, not type of player to get to top 4, Man U have bought better player, slow, inconsistent, we could get for that money.

oh boy can not wait see him fire on all cylinders

This makes the signing even sweeter...

Sadio Mane: Why I turned down Manchester United to sign for Liverpool

“There was interest from a lot of clubs, not just Manchester United, but as soon as I knew Liverpool were interested I just felt it was the right club with the right coach. It was right for me to come here.

“Liverpool are a massive club with a big history that has won many trophies over the years and as soon as I was told of the possibility to come here and I knew the manager wanted me I said yes.

“It was the right move. I recognise the size of the club and to progress to another level as a player this was the club and the moment for me. It was a step I needed to make.”

Yea really. There was another fella too who was adamant that he wasn't quick.

Baffling really as of all the things you could say about him, being slow most definitely isn't one of them

Think he showed one of those peak speed charts and said that as Mane wasn't in the top 10 in meant he wasn't quick. Thing is, I've seen one of those that had Andy Carroll at the top at 22mph because once he gets going he motors. Mane isn't outrageously quick, but his acceleration and mobility means in the real world, he's a big problem for defenders

There is a reason why some of us dont rate new signings for at least half a year

Looks strong too for a littleish guy. His determination to keep going when he was on the floor, fighting to win the ball, get back and up keep going impressed me more than the goal itself. Seems like Klopp's ideal kind of guy. And if he is consistent for us this season and available and fit, I fancy our chances, really do. He makes such a difference to the team.

It's the same with every signing any club makes, pre judgements, some will criticise some will approve , given our transfer dealings over the last 5 years it's no wonder fans are going to be upset if we're overspending or not buying top class players.

Yep - more displays like yesterday and its a bargain of a buy.

Still early days though so won't go overboard

The thing with mane is that he is quick with the ball and at the same time have a good control of the ball.
    Thats a rare thing.
    He slaloms between players

No won't go overboard. But against Barca, Arsenal and some matches pre season where he was finding his feet. Seems like we have a gem of a signing.
