I do not believe this stat about Rafa! Are you sure? Twice against each team or just two overall

Wow! That is quite sad! I am guessing that is only league though. No ghost goal games

Yes, but still pretty poor. Klopp's unbeaten apart from a lucky United win at Anfield. And still knocked them out in the EL.

A bit sad bringing Rafa into this thread. And if you are bringing up Cup competitions then Rafa beat chelski in FA Cup and Champs league as well as Arsenal in Champs league.

I'm bringing him just to show how good Klopp has been in these big games.

Even Rafa, who took us so close to a title, struggled against the top sides away. In the past 10-15 years we go to them and constantly lose.

I dreaded going to Highbury and then Emirates, we never got points there. Now I fancy us to score 3 or 4 and play them off the park.

Going unbeaten against top 6, is this common?

Obviously Arsenal invincibles would have done it albeit a weaker top 6 arguably at the time

The fact they never lost at home to a Swansea equivalent or away to Hull/Burnley/Bournemouth.... meant more .

This top 6 mini league is in the grand scheme of things a worthless exercise. Unless it was a 6 team league.

Hopefully Chelsea will top the table in the end.

Taking 3 points off City and Utd would be lovely.

top post and on the money.. assuming we can continue in the same vein in future seasons then its a massive bonus when competing for titles.

dunno why everyone gets so defensive. its not a slight on rafa, simply a fact. its there in black and white and we should all remember that our matches against the other top teams rarely ended in wins.

disagree. do the math. beating the lower sides is all well and good for top four - which we used to be comfortable in - but beating the other top sides is what wins titles. when did we last win a title? if we go back through the records (guessing) i would imagine we were usually about 15 points from achieving that during the last decade or so.

Klopp loves the big games and loves to play to win in the big games! It has worked out well for us thus far! However, the Dortmund - Bayern CL final is a stark reminder of how it can also go horribly wrong! Sevilla and City in the cup finals also remind us about that although I don't think Klopp was to blame for either of those finals.

Is there any historical correlation between finishing top of this mini-league and Top 4....guess it doesn't matter as our fate now rests on how we do vs. the lower tier teasm...

The common wisdom is that you get top 4 by beating the dross and then win the title by taking enough points against your rivals. We don't do common wisdom.

It's actually depressing seeing how we've nailed these games against the other big guns but are still nowhere near the title.

Not that I expected the title anyway..just seems like a waste.

I'd say it means that we are likely to do much better in Europe against teams that won't just sit on the edge of the 18y line and not want to play like many English sides will do in the league.

Also in context when you have a team that won 14 or so games on the bounce even if we did do a bit better you can't really do that much against a run like that given the size of our suad and the injury proneness of some players, and I'm not just talking Sturridge either.

Yeah, that's exactly why I can't wait to see how we do if we get in the CL.

I agree about the league. It would have been a tall order anyway given Chelsea's run. Just hope we can keep up this form against the rivals in the future while being more consistent. We'd definitely be challenging for the title then.

Chelsea just need a draw with Man.Utd in their final game to be Champions.

A defeat though would mean only Utd have a chance of stopping Liverpool from lifting the title.

Liverpool are the only side to have scored in every away game.

They've also kept the most home clean sheets (3).

So Chelsea blew their chance to take the title, losing 2-0 at Old Trafford. It means they finish with 22 points and can only finish 2nd at best.

Utd can still win the league, but they'd have to win all three remaining games to do so. If they drop any points, then Liverpool will be crowned Champions.

    Liverpool have been crowned Champions!!

Utd's failure to take all 3 points tonight, means that no-one can now catch The Reds.

A fantastic achievement for Klopp and his team, who suffered only the 1 defeat in 12 matches - and that was to bottom-placed Leicester.

    Darrrrrren.
Can you replace Leicester with Everton ?

The obvious top 7 , plus means 3 more points for us.
    Thanks in advance .
