Yep - who would of thought it -
Britain's Andy Murray is one win from becoming world number one following Novak Djokovic's surprise defeat by Marin Cilic at the Paris Masters.

Apparently, Andy Murray is now world number 1 as Raonic has withdrawn from the tournament.
Andy just had to reach the final to get the number one spot.
    Well done Andy!

Djokovic has been buckling recently. 2017 will be a big year for Andy.

What he's done in incredible though this year, winning Wimbledon, back to back in China and Shanghai and will probably win in Paris tomorrow too. He deserves it but Djokovic has had one of his worst career runs lately and there's no Federer either to compete for the top spot.

Well done Andy, his form has been great since Rome masters in May. Happy for him and hope this will silent his critics in his homeland forever. Apart form Us open he has been in either final or better in every tournament.

A year ago, Novak was invincible and poised to win all 4 GS and some on here even claim that he would "shatter" Roger's record

Field is wide open, its anybody's tournament now even for the 35 year old

Well done Dan Evans! Beat Cilic in the last round and has just defeated Tomic in three sets.

Djoko seems to have lost that drive, the inner desire that is so critical to get to the top and stay at the top of tennis.

After winning Roland Garros and completing the set, there is not much left now to achieve for him right now and it's a long hard grind on the tour. Maybe taking a break would help him come back refreshed.

Caught this on 5Live earlier, what happened with the spat when it started spitting? Seemed to be winding Tomic up no end.

I don't think he'll make it past Tsonga but its been a fantastic run so far for him so I won't count my chickens.

Federer proving once again just how rubbish this new generation of tennis players are.... something i said in the old thread and have continuously been proven correct about.
